Thanks. But, how is the right way to uninstall the old driver and install new driver.
Is it right to uninstall it from device manager. Care to share how you do it.  nod.gif
*
i think i have told ppl before....wait i find my old post here...

EDIT: here you are...

in order to uninstall the driver completely, use the exe file from your CD, the path is <drive>:\Audio\drivers\setup.exe....double click it and select as shown Attached Image , this should uninstall well, no need to use any other 3rd party uninstaller/registry cleaner as many users done, overkill adi...at least i used this method many times adi and it work well to me...

i didn't uninstall the driver by using device manager/add remove, i did once when i get this card for first time, so i know the pain of it.....

Hi, i'm planning to get a sound card and i cant decide between the X-Fi Elite Pro and X-Fi Extreme Music.
What's the main difference between them in terms of sound produced, packaging etc?
My main uses are mainly for games and music.
*
Sound Quality, ElitePro>>XtremeMusic (because Elitepro use better DAC and opamp)
Price, ElitePro>>>>>XtremeMusic (because Creative is suck)
Component Quality ElitePro==XtremeMusic (they are both crap) ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Installed the new console launcher.

Everything is fine, except I need to disbale UpdReg.exe, which is belong to Creative (I checked it from Google). If not disable, can not change / switch between modes. sweat.gif

You got a lot of trouble on Creative software installation, seems like is your problem rather than Creative problem, i didn't face any problem on it....

Maybe, I need  to format my hard disk. Going to change to Vista.

Anyone here know how to tune the Creative soundcard, to get more bass. I'm using Edifier R51. I'm feeling the speaker is lack of bass.
What's redirect bass do actually.

Thanks
*
Redirect bass? Just direct all the bass from it cut off point to the subwoofer and the satellite just produced the mid and high sound....without this full range sound will feed into the midrange(depends your speaker crossover design)...

Lack of bass maybe due to your speaker placement and setting, not enough bass?just adjust the bass knob at your speaker or use EQ in Creative Console to boost the bass, as easy as that....

i tot there is alternative driver out there that makes ur card sounds better?
*
The main purpose of alternative driver is to unlocked the Dolby/DTS feature which this before locked by Creative and not to make the sound better in Music listening...but now Creative adi unlocked those features in their official driver....you know sometimes ppl will add their own comment on the driver that actually not special such as the sound quality of alternative driver better than official driver.

just got my xtrememusic, but dunno wat to set lolz. Anyone can let me know what is the 1st step to get nicer sound? In gaming and listening to music.
*
using Audio creation Mode during music playback, set Master sampling to 96khz, enable the bit-matched playback, then you can get the highest quality you you want...

while gaming just use game mode and you can turn on CMSS-3D/Crystalizer/Bass boost as you desired... nod.gif

I just got my OEM X-fi XtremeMusic, i can't get any sound after install the latest driver download from creative support or the driver come together with the card. The windows detect the xfi & everything were fine at the windows setting & the creative audio settings. Just that there's not a single sound.

Previously i'm using Audigy 2 value but i already uninstall the driver & sofware using the hardware manager in windows before install the xfi.

Is there any method to solve this problems maybe due to driver problem or i'm going to RMA as last option?
*
Check your connection carefully first, then try at another com...if the problem still there, baru go to RMA...

Probably u guys are listening CD or DVD audio.  am just listening to MP3 only lolz. And the CMSS 3D should i set all the way to surround when watching movies? I dunno how to play with it lolz.
*
if your movie already Multichannel sound, CMSS-3D won't make any difference if you enable it...try it, i tried before, useless one...CMSS-3D working good in games...

About my question is i reconnect back my Audigy 2 on the same pci slot & reinstall back the Audigy driver, theres audio sound straight away even still haven't restart my windows.

But the xfi don't have any sound at all, is this consider dead card or driver problem, as the xfi driver were install successful without error.

Is the latest driver is for updated only, so i doesn't work as it need the original driver from CD?
*
for the X-FI, when you install the driver, it will have 'click' sound...

The latest driver is the full driver, no such issue at all...

Still the same, try your card at another computer before you RMA...

I just found out uninstall the x-fi driver will leave some of the .dll files not remove permanent even using 3rd party software also same. Any method to delete permanent those .dll & registry?
*
In your case, go for RMA...

erm.. i think sound from xp better than in vista (im using latest driver).. is it only me think that way?no, you are not the only one who feel that....

one more thing.. i got a problem with the driver.. i installed the latest xfi driver.. when i boot my pc, sometimes the vista didnt detect the x-fi driver, thus i cant open console launcher and there is no sound at all, i need to restart the pc, then only the driver detected properly.. why ar?
*
no, you are not the only one who feel that...i feel that as well....even the RMAA test show me the sound in Vista < XP.....

I don't have those driver problem since my first use of this card...maybe your Vista installed something that was incompatible with your X-FI driver...

I have used the sofware but actually not 100% clean but at lease remove the xfi registry problems that cause audigy software not able to launch program. There's still some .dll file with such file name C1(someting doh.gif ).dll with Creative xfi description inside the system 32 couldn't be remove by the software need to delete manually.
*
then mah delete manually lo, what so difficult since you adi know where its located...

I want to connect my X-Fi Xtrememusic to my receiver with Digital Connection. Does this cable work?
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=778751&hl=

no, this is optical fibre cable, u need creative front panel which consist of optical port, and this front panel is not included in XtremeMusic....the back of the card is coaxial cable...

hi all,

new X-Fi user here (X-Fi Fatality Platinum Champion Series)!!! plus Logitech Z5500...

The only issue is with my optical setup. rather confusing, as when i test the channel / noise under the creative console. both rear speakers' sound appears thru front speakers....

anyone knows about the problems??
*
read here....briefing about that page: you need to purchase Dolby Digital Live for $4.72(US) to do multichannel digital encoding...otherwise the same thing will happen to all X-FI users...

normally im using entertaiment mode.. is good for me.. if i use the Audio Creation mode... will effect the sound?
*
you mean what 'effect'? Audio Creation mode can provide most accurate sound among three modes (need to enable bit matched-playback)....use entertainment mode if you watch surround movie only, music>Audio Creation mode, game>of course game mode...

1. Nope, so far it never happen...

2.yap, AC3 = Dolby digital...try open that windows as you opened when movie playback, the 6 input levels bar should have some movement if 5.1 surround sound is playback....if no indicator at all, reinstall and try again...

3. uninstall the driver and Console Launcher completely before reinstall new one....use Entertainment mode when you want to watch surround movie..In Vista, sometimes the X-FI was access by another program in background, when you try to change mode, you will saw that message...

4. nothing you need to adjust if you are using 6 channel direct, i think no effect on analog input (correct me if i'm wrong)...or you can ask at Logitech z-XXXX series thread...

5. if you want to output optical signal to the speaker, tick the 'use SPDIF' at AC3filter there, without this, the card won't output surround/multichannel sound through digital/optical terminal....

Once again, X-FI in Vista is more problematic in XP, so good luck to you...Anyway i'm using X-FI in XP, no problem and work perfectly...
