yup.. unfortunately you have a limited choice unless you can bear to be laughed at wearing a motorcycle helmet to ride your bike...

my mom laughed about wearing a construction safety helm = ="

I only managed to do a 22.4km/h avg speed on my first ride.. seems like only slightly faster than my mtb.. doing a 800m x 13. Many corner and cars.. Geram..

you aiming to compete in duathlons is it... hehe  tongue.gif

Tri apparently hehe.. well that's long term plan, see if I get to join this year's PD triathlon or not

On the other hand, what the advantage of 10 speed to 9 speed? I cant really cycle at 2x10.. gear ratio too high for me to handle

I will definitely not upgrade for marginal differences, right now I am trying to used to sensation of riding, and also going slow and be prepare how to handle my bike in various situation.

Saw a titanium frame bike sent for the bike shop I bought my bike, damn sexy although feels a bit heavy in my hand, it's damn solid.
Someone mentioned about where I bought my bike:
Here it is

Tat Seng Bicycle Centre No.33 , Jln 34/154 , Tmn Delima, 56000 Cheras 03-9101 8051

It's in Baibike Directory too

Did a big loop near my house, the last slope towards my house s killing me, my avg speed drop from 28kmh back to 22 I get a day earlier.

This time I did my running first before cycling, running up the slope is easier than cycling up that slope *#$)#*$)#...

Lower end groupset, mixed Sora and Tiagra. may look at upgrading to 105s a bit later....just to train first la...

most important is that its comfortable, even for 90km ride. Maybe not as comfy as carbon but ok la for the price...smile.gif

Climbed the slope.. but totally struggling T_T, it's not even a very long stretch, used to zoom up all the way when I was way younger

Titanium is much stronger than carbon, the fact they have some ductile properties and best strength to weight ratio material, which explains why it is used in aerospace.

I see that there's a lot of white frame bikes around

Just a meter will do that too right? I bought one together, less than RM100, din opt for the wireless one which is below RM200. U don't really need an advance monitor unless you are going serious cycling

I thought to make 1 hook.. some sort of extension bar with u bend to hold my bike ( just wonder where is the balance point, i see the bike shop actually balance my bike at the saddle rather than the frame..

The extension bar will be secure to my house window grill..

Just did an half hour ride today, avg speed 24.x km/h. 13km covered. Only differences is that less hills, and longer stretch of straight road today thus the higher avg speed.

I think my saddle is adjusted a bit too low.. when i raise my leg sometimes it hit my tummy

Sitting at home waiting ur cholesterol to rise, blood pressure to hike, and building up your six (one) pack also very dangerous = ="

*
Can get RM3k over here but size XS, at Tat Seng also. 2011 Model, for 2012 model it's around 3.5k

QUOTE(butthead @ Jan 25 2012, 11:06 PM)
WAT!!!... u gay is it... go find ur yum cha kaki la... i got work tmr leh...
not so cheap la... RM2.5k.. i am going to go jump off the bridge... 105 group already RM2k...
PM me first... i am going to beat him there...
it must be helios 100... the 500 is no longer available in the 2012 range.. they make a jump straight to the carbon 600s... maybe same price la...

*
There's Helios 500 on 2012 Range, but so far I think whole KL is out of stock.. which is why I ended up on my Focus instead.
RM2.5k is too good to be true... Even the RM3k i saw I would just grab it immediately actually if not of the size

QUOTE(butthead @ Jan 25 2012, 11:16 PM)
why want to start new tered so fast... this one has been fun...
yeah.. KSH SS2... they deal with Merida.. and they distribute to some other shops too...

road ride has a taller head tube and a slightly different seat tube angle built on a longer wheelbase... so you ride more upright for long days in saddle and the bike is more tame but is less agile in turning...

the good thing with KSH is they are quite a friendly shop when they are free... silvy jus had a bad experience with rodalink today... so, don't ask him (he is on the verge of setting their shops on fire  vmad.gif )

there is no wrong in any bike as long as it is a reputable brand sold by a reputable shop...it is just the side by side comparison for their value for money on paper specs.. once you get past that stage...most important that you find one that suits you in size and the look that you like...of course, your pocket too...

do your research online first before you visit the shops.. if not, they will hypnotize you...

someone's going to jump off KL tower  rclxms.gif

come.. post up your focus for mrjgx to admire a bit... your one is the most expensive among the few newly bought ones.. RM100 more expensive than silvy's secteur...

Added on January 25, 2012, 11:45 pmother than the brands mentioned here... the others will be jamis ventura sport and comp models (not sure where to get them but i think there is a shop is shah alam or klang area) can't recall name...

KHS (possibly also in GH), Fuji (all over the place if not in gin huat or GH speedbikes), and Giant (no longer with rodalink now, not so sure where they are)

Only snapped this on the afternoon I bought my bike, very overexposed due to direct sunshine

put that rear light vertically.better.

The bike shop installed for me actually.. any reasoning for that being?

Btw what's the differences between Trialthete's bike and a road bike.. they have a arm rester in front instead of drop bar (actually have both)

On the other hand actually my bike is RM3.9k too, just RM100 for those lights and meter...

Wa silvy so hardcore and brand conscious haha.. I used to be brand specific, when I am playing badminton I almost make sure everything I use is in the name of Yonex.. after a while stop playing, and recent stat playing again. Actually is what suit to you, i found a nice mid end pro-ace racquet very much to my taste.

As bike I think the bike who suits you will be the best bike, not the most famous and expensive bike. Time after time perhaps you should know what you need.

Offcourse is good that ppl say wa that bike's brand is the one who won tour de France last year..
