New info!

I just searched Kino Malaysia for Blankets and Craig Thompson but both of the results was zero.

I think you should call Kino or Borders to confirm the availability first before going though.

Borders at the Curve was has some wide selection but in my opinion their books are not kept as well as Kino's.

Good Luck bro!

Rm200 is quite expensive since you can order online for far cheaper prices.
I did some checking and found out the price from different websites.
Amazon.com = rm160 inclusive of international express delivery
Amazon.co.jp = rm174 inclusive of international express delivery
bookdepository.co.uk = rm100 standard delivery
tfaw.com = rm121 business premium delivery
If you want the cheapest you should go for bookdepository since they have a further 10% discount promotion right now but for the fastest delivery choose either of the Amazon websites.

Ordering from bookdepository takes awhile prepare to wait for your order.
I've had orders that took from 2 weeks to up to a month to arrive.

Hey, guys. Do you know how does the free shipping offered by thebookdepository work? Is it really free? What kind of shipping options do we have? Anything else to take note of when it comes to ordering from this website? Other than the late delivery (2 weeks to a month or longer)...

Thanks in advance.

The price that you see is the amount that you have to pay and nothing else. There are 2 websites bookdepository.co.uk and bookdepository.com, for some books the price are different for each websites so you should search both for the best price. There are no other shipping options available. They also send each book separately even if you order them together.

Thanks, sheva78. You're right. Prices on both sites are different. But how come a book of the same title costs differently on the same website? The price difference can be as much as $15 to $20. Is it because one is a rejected and/or damaged copy?

By the way, will orders incur any customs tax over here?

no tax are incurred. As for the price difference, I don't know maybe because the .com website is targeted for the north American market hence the price difference. Although the .co.uk website has more promotions and further discounts.

Keep up with the exchange rate guys, dollar is dropping. $22 is RM66 so looks more or less the same price. biggrin.gif

On the prices, yes the two sites are targetted at different customers (US and UK) but it makes no difference as they still get sent out of the UK whichever one you order from.

Since it's the same price, better get from Kino if your from KL/Selangor. No need to wait. whistling.gif (since buying online using standard shipping & not the tracking one, there is a small chance, well you know..missing)

Get from Amazon if there is high difference between pricing of Kino and Amazon. Amazon has shipping costs and handling too.

If tax rebate is on the book price only, thus if the cost difference is say RM8-00, you would ended up claim less tax rebate on Amazon order due to extra costs incurred.

Also, you support Kino to order more right?

Personally i think the price from Amazon is cheaper than any other online stores. I'm talking about hardcovers, TPBs in my opinion you just get it from Kino.

The only downside is that the total cost plus shipping and handling can still bump up the price.

However I have ordered from Amazon twice already, and have easily saved around RM 50 or more compared to if I buy it from Kino.

The only complaint I have is that when my books arrived they have a slight dent on them. ( I'm blaming the handling of Customs or Pos Malaysia)

And also it might take more than a month for your book to arrive.

Just my 2 cents. biggrin.gif

That's why I tend to use Book Depository, the price on Amazon can often be lower but once you add on the postage costs it's usually more expensive.

One tip is pre-order too. It's usually 10-20% cheaper than if you wait for it to come out.

For me personally the speed of delivery isn't very imortant, by the time the trade has come out the material is usually 8 months old anyway, waiting 3 weeks more is no big deal.
