If the original clear coat and paint is very soft then I'd say that a good coating will help reduce the possibility and severity of scratches occurring. Only gripe I have with coating is they usually don't last that long even though they cost a lot. Past experience for me, the coat was gone after 1 year or so and I was very careful to use good quality car wash, towels, etc.

Yes it's expensive and turns yellowish after 6-9 months.  I have seen a white W205 Merc C class remove the expensive clear film off as half the car had turned yellow (he only wrapped the front of the car) while the other half remained white.  Apparently ALL clear paint protection films in the market today turn yellowish over time.  That's why I don't put clear films on my headlights as well although it was offered for free.  After a few months, your nice white DRLs will start to look yellowish in color too

Where could we get coolant for Honda Civic? I just take delivery for 1 month and check the coolant yesterday, it was drop below minimum level.

Coating is meant to be a sacrificial layer to protect the car's paint up to a certain amount.. After that, it's gone..
Good quality film and good craftsmanship would last minimum 7 years, maximum 10 years before u need rewrap the car..
ClearGuard Nano and Xpel have the best quality films but u will be looking at 20k - 30k for a full wrap..

Either you do PPF, or hard coating. Hard coating won't really save you from the bad stone chips, but it helps some. PPF is of course the best IMHO, but also the most expensive - not permanent solution either, either need to change in a few years, or even a few months due to wear and tear. Simplest & cheapest solution? Drive slower If 110-120, stone chips are not that bad... It's those 150 and above that's leaving deep impressions & mar the car surface.
