QUOTE(farique @ Feb 8 2007, 09:36 AM) who said the new celica not good? Ive seen one Celica was pulling away after made a U-turn. The engine sound very similar to any DOHC VTECs. Awesome sensation lol.. I thought it was a VTEC, but it wasnt. Hahaha.. Beach_boy, what's yours version? QUOTE(nikizwan @ Feb 8 2007, 11:57 PM) in terms of power. celica is underpower for me. for a 120k price. u got only 1.8 . Better take altezza. QUOTE(Beach_Boy(R) @ Feb 9 2007, 01:03 AM) normal driving, you dont really feel the rush Seriously, i kinda like the Celica too. Its a not too old post year 2000 japanese coupe which is easy to maintain since it's N/A and not too big in size. Yes, the engine sounds great when it's camlifted in the high rpm region. Just sound like a DOHC VTEC. But the 4-speed auto is crap. You dont need a B16A/B16B/B18C to kill it, even a puny L15A being side by side to the Celica during a 0 to 180km/h sprint will put the Celica to shame. Get the 6-speed manual then it will be more fun. Toyota Altezza? Get the 6-speed manual too. The 5-speed auto is crap too. An equally modded Altezza and equally modded Jazz is side by side during the 0-180km/h sprint. But of coz the "X-factor" will be different to be in a Celica or Altezza. I still love them although they aint really that fast. A proper and descent sports coupe and sports saloon. unless u really thrash the engine rev it above 6k rpm, cam lift changes there you go, the DOHC VTEC like soundtrack and watch the speed grows it doesnt run out of steam until 8k RPM |

QUOTE(Cahill @ Feb 9 2007, 03:03 PM) thats one great set up, mrs is light and handling very good. even ek9/dc2 will have hard time catching up (if the honda is stock) NSX or S2000 you prefer ? but for me a die hard honda fan, i'll prefer ek9. good value for money. dc2 will be better if u can afford to buy it cash |

To be frank the 2ZZ-GE engine is not weak at all. 1.8 litre VVTL-i engine producing 190bhp is actually very impressive. Bear in mind at that power, it is neither with a turbo nor a supercharger yet.

Suite for poor ppl like me who dreaming day and night for a sports coupe but cant afford to maintain a turbo, then the Celica is the way to go. Not too old like the DC2 or any other pre year 2000 japanese sports coupe. |

QUOTE(Gouki @ Feb 9 2007, 04:32 PM) but jazz is lighter right? best kick for modding vtec would be the cam & tune it properly, can gain min 10 whp. |

QUOTE(Beach_Boy(R) @ Feb 7 2007, 11:31 PM) vvtl-i u mean ya that right, manual 1 more better, moreover limited 1there's a vvt-i version as well with 140hp, same engine as the altis 1.8's nimble car good reliability, real power doesnt come in until the race cam kicks in, which is at about 6k RPM default drive it normally(assume stock) economy's quite good and be prepared for loads of modified national car and hondas come and kacau if can find the manual TRD version, grab it already, dont think twice, limited edition with 210hp, not bad for a car with this weight |

Dont have any aftermarket internal engine parts for L15A, not even from Spoon or Mugen. Unless, port/polish and engine balancing. Yeah, the main advantage of Jazz is the power to weight ratio and also the CVT gearbox. |
