IMO, celica look like powerful sport car but the engine ain't that "powerful". Even a B16B/B18C can give the celica a good run, I wont spend so much on such car. since u are looking into fast car, dc2/ek9/evo4 will be better worth the value.

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Feb 9 2007, 01:28 PM) I dont mind if i looking for a coupe for my daily ride which can be my weekend ride as well. The triptronic will be great for city driving. Unless i looking for pure performance and for weekend use, i definery consider the integra DC2. Too bad its hard to find such cars and loan for those cars are not easy to obtain. yah thats true. the loan will be very hard to get and the interest rate will be killing u

QUOTE(CFS @ Feb 9 2007, 02:22 PM) wow try getting a second hand lotus elise mk1...light & powerful as well...if got extra dump in a b18c then u can fly with the car...power to weight ration can win alot of cars....even in open trackday SIC lotus still rocks...haha subaru & evo oso need to respect haha u cant plonk in B18C into lotus, different chasis mounting. B-series only suitable for honda only, unless u willing to spend huge huge amount.

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Feb 9 2007, 02:54 PM) Another alternative is get the toyota mrs and plug the celica's VVTl-i engine instead. Should be a powerful and fast lightweight car with that. thats one great set up, mrs is light and handling very good. even ek9/dc2 will have hard time catching up (if the honda is stock) but for me a die hard honda fan, i'll prefer ek9. good value for money. dc2 will be better if u can afford to buy it cash

Then i trid 350z auto but that one got ooommmmhhh... never raced or ride a manual celica before yet.

QUOTE(ben83 @ Feb 9 2007, 03:52 PM) To be frank the 2ZZ-GE engine is not weak at all. 1.8 litre VVTL-i engine producing 190bhp is actually very impressive. Bear in mind at that power, it is neither with a turbo nor a supercharger yet. 2ZZ-GE ain't bad at all but Honda's gear box ratio still the best.

QUOTE(Gouki @ Feb 9 2007, 04:32 PM) - OFF TOPIC - » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « My jazz is "lightly" modified only. Never dyno before so i'm not sure about mine. My friend's Jazz VTEC is modded with open pod air filter, header, grounding, plug cables, lightened crankshaft pulley, Apex'i N1 muffler and tuned with Apex'i AFC Neo in Amoil. Close to 100 ponnies on wheel. Not a great figure if you compare to those B16/18 series. but jazz is lighter right? best kick for modding vtec would be the cam & tune it properly, can gain min 10 whp. bt i am not too sure on jazz modding part since its not same as b-series. but u can drop in K20A1 annytime, then u got a real monster!

QUOTE(Gouki @ Feb 12 2007, 12:26 PM) DC5 more expensive than Celica lar. And only a little faster. If to top up so much to get the DC5 from Celica, might as well i go get those Scooby STi Ver8 or Silvia S15 Spec R. So, for Celica, with it's price, looks, design, performance and etc, its quite okay for it's price which i wont complain much. Dc5 will be lots faster than celica if u race those two in track. i tested sti and S15 b4, sti would be better for normal driving, spec R launching will be quite hard, and worst the full lock lsd is damn noisy, sound like the rear suspension at "kong" already.
