QUOTE(Doraku @ Aug 16 2017, 09:33 PM) thats great news la since miner wont buy vega because of it high power usage, is they buy the power usage is cost more than they made, maybe amd increase the power usage because dont want miner screw up the gpu price lol, I don't think so though?I think the power draw is making the gamers to be worried, not miners because most miners are dependant on "free electricity" This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Aug 17 2017, 12:46 PM |

QUOTE(yhsiau @ Aug 15 2017, 07:59 PM) Very little stock in Malaysia. But then, especially for AMD cards, it is better to wait for cards with 3rd party coolers. I would expect at least a 12 inches long card with triple axial fans. |

QUOTE(Doraku @ Aug 17 2017, 01:24 PM) I have heard about that before, because miners are getting a large number of GPUs hence the power consumption is overwhelming and some would need and resort to "free electricity" to widen the cost to benefit ratio. and the question on how do they get "free electricity"... |

I remembered one site mentioned the vega card to be over 1kg in weight wow
It's like the same weight as my previous Sapphire triple fan R9 290. While my tiny 2 fan GTX1070 weighs around half that lol |

More review videos.
TL;DW - Similar or faster compare to 1070 FE - Could reach 1080 FE performance when overclocked - Overclocking the core with increase power limit increase power consumption significantly - Overclock the HBM will give noticeable improvement without crazy increase in power limit - Use the same HBM as Vega 64/Vega FE so technically you can overclock it to Vega 64/FE level TL;DW - Currently there is no way to flash with custom BIOS successfully because of the newly added security processor - Software reading is still buggy - Best VRM in reference card - Perform similar to 1070 FE - Consume almost +100w with 50% power limit increase - Consume significantly lesser power when undervolted to 1.025v from 1.2v even with +50% power limit - Lesser heat and able to maintain clock speed when undervolted (duh) |

Vega FE is not a gaming card. And it is also true for RX Vega 64.

So mid range 60 & 70s volta should be good. 80s are the high range. Ti/titans are enthusiast.I have decided to be on the 80s cycle. It has the longest shelf life. Nvidia will do the same with Volta. the delay in Volta will probably just improve it even more. probably should re-split Radeon from AMD so that they each can concentrate building their own products. |
