should i buy RX 580? R9 390? or the R9 Fury?
gaming at 1080p and 1440p
can't wait for vega and it won't be in the price range

Go with RX-580 if you concern about VRAM capacity else R9-Fury. What is the price liek btw?

Overall performance Fury is faster of course especially at 1440p.

alright then, which brand does better performance/cooling/OC/RMA?
Sapphire or ASUS?

For R9-Fury? Sapphire Nitro offer best cooling performance and Asus Strix come in close 2nd but aesthetically i prefer Fury Nitro, one of the best looking card in recent years imo.

OC wise 1150mhz is good, 1200mhz is damn good. The chip is not known for overclocking capability btw, i'm not surprise if you can't get it past 1120mhz.

Radeon Vega will be launching at the end of July. That's really late....

If u are impatient, u can fork out more $$$ to buy vega FE(frontier edition not founder edition... hehe) to play game.

If AMD picked the best benchmark (i.e. the benchmark where they got the best result), then vega is already in deep trouble if crossfired cards cannot achieve the same performance as one GTX 1080.

According to Raja those card ran "comfortably well above any single GPU".



From TPU benchmark 1080 barely meet 60fps average@4K.

thanks... interesting read. but it does not do anything to dispel any doubts, eh... maybe by design? i mean, maybe they want to keep us in doubt for now?

anyway, the demo by AMD CEO quoted by notebookcheck was apparently "locked at 60 fps." if this is indeed true, it doesn't really mean that it was the limit for the setup. however, locking the fps just fail (to me, at least) to demonstrate the potential that threadripper has, or even the vega Xfire setup.

Yup, i think they want to destroy Vega hype train. Hopefully they didn't re-create unnecessary hype near launch day.

I recall many complaint about the demo seem stuttered/full with screen tearing which mean it's not locked at 60fps imo.
That could also mean it ran below 60fps.

The demo they show simply mean "look we got it running, at 4K ;D" to me, not showcasing their performance.

just wondering, if the demo was "locked at 60 fps" and the setup did not manage to produce at least 60 fps, would it exhibit in tearing or stuttering? or something else?

admittedly, i have no experience in Xfire or SLI, and never played any game on locked fps setting.

Nvidia already won the highend GPU market, AMD is keep on delaying VEGA. looks like AMD heavy betting on HBM is a bad move.

anyone know how to turn on AMD Freesync?
i use LG monitor which is according to the AMD web is certified AMD HDMI Freesync.
and pair it with RX560.
somehow after install AMD driver, cannot turn on the freesync.
