That card they demoed in Doom 4K video is probably AMD answer to GTX 1080 instead of GTX 1080 Ti so expect similar or slightly lower pricing compare to GTX 1080.

Engineering sample, the card most probably many months away from retail production.

WHQL = the driver is certified by Microsoft. Basically mean nothing much for us gamers.

No1 AMD fan is not impressed with Vega performance reveal.

I've expected this too. It's Fury X all over again.

He's not AMD no.1 fanboy so that is expected. Yea the performance is not impressive and according to Raja that is the top Vega though it's still an early test chip with early driver.
What confused me is that Raja told it's the high end Vega chip but early Doom 4K footage show it only have 8GB of VRAM.

It is high end meaning that, there will be only 1 Vega variance at launch. The so called bigger Vega is probably going to arrive later. Very late.

My expectation on Vega is clear. If they price it right, maybe in between 1070-1080, it put enough pressure for Nvidia to lower their 1080 price, and release the 1080ti to take back the performance crown.

If Vega is up against 1080 in term of pricing, well AMD is not saint as everyone thought.

If that is the case and that Vega is faster than 1080, then the price should be at least similar to 1080 not lower imo.

The way NVIDIA is behaving, AMD can never gain significant footprint until it stops playing the 'price bracket' game NVIDIA has set and price their wares more aggressively. At least 70% less.

Price margins have gone out of control in recent years, no doubt because NVIDIA keeps pushing the prices higher. As the sole competitor in the market, AMD needs to fuck NVIDIA over once in a while and bring them back to humility.

...Looking at the way RX 480 is priced against 1060 though, AMD is still quite arrogant. Or is this 'price bracket' bullshit also played by local retailers while ignoring international prices? Too lazy to research this now though.
