Well, I guess that makes Vega a bad solution (considering the competition)... NVidia will move on and the gap will widen...
If this slide is true, then Vega is not for me.

QUOTE(abu.shofwan @ Jul 31 2017, 06:10 PM) don't worry, you're not the only one... i'm still stuck at 1080p display... non free-sync / g-sync some more... I'm stuck with 1080p too. QUOTE(khelben @ Jul 31 2017, 09:22 PM) Ya man and that blower cooler on 290 watts TDP definitely remind me of 290x.. 290 watts, 290x.. AMD must be hinting something. QUOTE(Lurker @ Jul 31 2017, 09:59 PM) Not sure myself, official launch date is 14th August so a week before that? QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jul 31 2017, 10:57 PM) Because Doom is one of few games that favor Radeon cards quite heavily, IF Vega scale similarly with other games compare to Fury-X then expect 1080 to be on par/surpass Vega 64 in other games especially open world games. 1080 now cost around RM3k?Also GTX1080 performance level is not enough too warranty an upgrade from my current GTX 980 Ti, i need at least 50% more performance. |

QUOTE(khelben @ Aug 1 2017, 01:47 PM) Yeah this is the card to look for. QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Aug 1 2017, 02:57 PM) Most probably that because 1070 can't reach 1080 performance and Vega 56 probably will after decent overclock assuming it perform below that at launch.QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Aug 1 2017, 05:38 PM) I kinda like AoTS. QUOTE(khelben @ Aug 2 2017, 11:04 AM) Wolfenstein 2 & Far Cry 5 will support AMD’s RX Vega exclusive feature, Rapid Packed Math Exclusive? I thought Rapid Packed Math is just a fancy name for FP16. http://www.dsogaming.com/news/wolfenstein-...id-packed-math/ |

More news about Vega. Since many reviewers already got their cards, "seems legit" benchmark run of the cards started to pop up on the web.
This is allegedly Firestrike score for Vega 56 which people believed an overclocked Vega 56. On the right is my own 980 Ti score. Not looking good imo but it just a synthetic benchmark, who know how it will perform on real gaming load. ![]() Link: http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/13335757/fs/12477089 |

This feels like R600 all over again, but at higher price.

QUOTE(abu.shofwan @ Aug 14 2017, 08:49 PM) Those numbers are for full system power draw, right? How much does a 1080 and 1080ti draw at the wall? Errr... Given its gaming performance not better than 1080,maybe I should also ask for 1070 power draw eh? ![]() ![]() ![]() QUOTE(area61 @ Aug 14 2017, 10:49 PM) really doubt that the 56 is gonna be cheaper than the 1070 here with that mining craze. Yeah, 56 will sell like hot cakes with it ok hashrate and potentially use lower power with undervolting. Price gonna get inflated pretty soon if not now.well at least there is options to chose now and not just defaulting to the 1070 ![]() |

More review videos.
TL;DW - Similar or faster compare to 1070 FE - Could reach 1080 FE performance when overclocked - Overclocking the core with increase power limit increase power consumption significantly - Overclock the HBM will give noticeable improvement without crazy increase in power limit - Use the same HBM as Vega 64/Vega FE so technically you can overclock it to Vega 64/FE level TL;DW - Currently there is no way to flash with custom BIOS successfully because of the newly added security processor - Software reading is still buggy - Best VRM in reference card - Perform similar to 1070 FE - Consume almost +100w with 50% power limit increase - Consume significantly lesser power when undervolted to 1.025v from 1.2v even with +50% power limit - Lesser heat and able to maintain clock speed when undervolted (duh) |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 6 2017, 10:34 AM) AMD selling RX 560 with 896sp. I bought Powercolor RX 560 few days ago to test out Freesync and it comes with 896sp, but I did found 1034sp vBIOS variant of the same card and lucky me it worked. AMD shooting themself in the foot with this, you need to look in their SKU to know which variant you got. I guess they're shooting another foot this time because last year they make a r9-270 with 1024sp. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 6 2017, 08:09 PM) Hmm, i recall someone here had the PowerColor card so many that's the case.QUOTE(Thomas93 @ Dec 9 2017, 05:05 PM) Hi guys I just gotten myself a freesync monitor. can you guys help me choose between 980ti or RX480 or 580 gpu which 1 is better? My aim is to play high/ultra games settings only~ Which monitor? 980 Ti performance is much higher compare to 580. I don't know if Freesync works out of the box for all games or still need some software support for each games. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 10 2017, 01:55 PM) Freesync is not dependant on games, as long as you enable it in control panel it should work, enhanced sync work too if you want the framerate to be uncapped. I have 980Ti but since Freesync work so well Im using my RX 560 all the time now. I guess it's enabled by default and AMD only disable it per game profile when there is an issue for that particular game.Freesync monitor is pretty cheap, really make me wonder why some even buy slightly cheaper non-Freesync with TN panel. What happened to your 1080 Ti? |
