still cannot turn on the Freesync..
it still shows, AMD Freesync disabled.

What monitor model is that? Did you enable Freesync in monitor setting? Does the monitor have it's own driver?

my monitor is LG 23MP68VQ - Freesync certified monitor pair it with RX560.
i've installed the driver from cd provided.
in the OSD settings i cannot find the freesync.

i've just found that there is OSD driver.
will try tonight.

btw, any chances that HDMI cable can cause the issue, considering HDMI cable have few types such as 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.0
*
You didn't install latest driver from AMD website?

Should work with any HDMI >1.3 cable.

AFAIK you need to enable it in monitor first before you can enable it in Radeon Setting, similar to GSYNC i think.

noted bro.
will install the OSD monitor driver first.
because now i cannot see the OSD.
thanks
*
Yup, from the monitor page it show Freesync is off by default. I don't think you need to install any monitor software/driver to access the OSD though.

Go around 1:20 min

I'm re-playing Final Fantasy XIII (PC version) now laugh.gif

390X and I'm playing that game. What a waste huh? Hahahaha
*
Can you actually enjoy Freesync with that game? The FPS drop is crazy.

Workload?
It's not a gaming graphic card? sweat.gif

Reading the VEGA Frontier overview in AMD website, quite confusing rclxub.gif
*
I don't know the real intended audience for this card. It perform mediocre in some gaming and pro task.

This is for pro.
RX vega is the gaming card
*
For semi-pro to be more accurate, pro will go for Firepro version which have the best software support.
I would love to see benchmark between this card and AMD Firepro cards in pro tasks.

Guys, need your advice. I got a rig with i5 3570k, so now I want to add a GPU. Should I go just with HD7970 or a newer gen card? Just for occasional gaming so I think HD7900 should be okay for me, plus the cheaper the better.

I'm thinking of GTX 670 and 680 too but I prefer AMD due to Hackintosh and they tend to be cheaper but that was long time ago.

What's your budget mang?

Is it really GTX1080? If yes then there's another hint on which performance bracket Vega will compete.

get GTX1050, it almost on par with GTX680

and lower power consumption too
*
What? Really?
I recall 1050 is quite far behind 1050 Ti and 1050 Ti is in similar performance level of 670/680/770/960/760/7950/7970/280/280x/285/380/380x?

Anyone using this driver on Win7 x64 ? I read that it shows as 'beta' for this version and had some issues with it. However, the Win10 version is unaffected.

is 1060 a value upgrade compared to r9 290x? if the increase in performance isn't that much, guess will wait a few months and see for the gpu prices to drop.
*
Yeah, not worth it unless your 290x is super loud, super hot and lemon overclocker.

I believe it's either the graphic card or the monitor itself, but too damn busy to send them for RMA
*
Only happened when Freesync is enabled?

QUOTE(pinkguy @ Jul 30 2017, 12:53 PM)
i got an offer to buy a less than 1 year 980 ti for rm 1650. worth it?
*
Which model?
Not worth it imo, got mine for Rm1.6k new last year when they doing some sort of clearance sales.

I suggest wait a little longer for price to stabilize since GPU mining craze is slowing down and also see if Vega will bring these prices further down.

a 300w GPU? the ROI will be slower compare to the more efficient card.

Yes
Ordered an RX 550 to test, once it arrives will check if the issue is caused by the monitor itself or the graphic card

Hopefully it's the monitor, not the graphic card because I highly doubt I can get R9 390X if I send it for RMA now
Don't want them to replace it with RX 580 because that will be a downgrade
And my HAF XB EVO case is a little cramped to put anything longer than 285mm
*
Seem that Freesync and flickering is quite common, have you try lowering the refresh rate to 120hz and see if that eliminate it?
