good definition is relative

some ppl don't want pay the fee or don't need this cash loan. then this offer is bad.

some ppl want the cash loan for whatever reasons, then it could be good deal for them. fee is just minor compared to the need for the sum of $$.

service tax is a law requirement

bank charge card service tax, on behalf of IRB

bank must remit the tax collection back to IRB

so, telling bank to WAIVE is essentially telling them to disobey the law, which they cannot do that laugh.gif


REBATE is different

we ask for rebate, is for bank to offer rebate/cashback to us as goodwill/loyalty/retention reward.

meaning, bank absorb the service tax.

bank still continue charge the service tax.

we still need to pay the service tax according to our credit card statement.

bank still remit the tax collection back to IRB.

standard chargeback process, it's up to 120 days, usually it's faster if the fraud merchant failed/MIA to provide transaction proof to their bank/scheme.

genuine txn chargeback usually longer as genuine merhcnat may counter-dispute the chargeback, so it goes back-and-forth until arbritation stage.
