Just recently applied JOP, still thinking whether to apply LFC or not to take advantage of the spin and win promo
*
oh. then have to pay annual fee first and get jersey later. I think wait until the end of the jersey promo. I don't remember when, but I think end of Feb. then see if they revert back to first year annual fee waiver.

Lately seems like spin and difficult to win.

It's really worth it to me, even if just for the monthly cashback, as the number of cashback CC is reducing and better to milk it while still can.
*
Since nov 1 have to pay $175 annual fee loh. No first year waiver. 3.5 months milk money gone already. subjected that there is no revision to cash back after 3.5 months.

So yours has been charged and you have paid?
*
Nope, I hold back from applying. I did ask the personnel who was handling my JOP application and she said no first year waiver for Liverpool. December gray area, maybe can. My JOP already January, so too late. Now wait and see what happens after Jersey promo is over.

We shall see from other new applicants.

I hereby offer myself to be the first guinea pig. If successful, I'll be the Last Jedi, or so, the last Liverpool card applicant to get the first year waiver because I'm very sure they will update their website according to the new T&C. I'll update here again.

I am guessing they started charging for the Liverpool card after the rebrand possibly because they need to pay some fee for using their brand name. Unless it's already in the agreement being one Liverpool's main sponsor.

So meaning January applicant (approved or applied) will get charged RM175 no matter how ?

The Jersey TnC offer is started from Nov 2019 though as from what i read, hmm ...
*
2018 bro, not 2019.

"no matter how" - I think depends how loud you can shout over the phone harping on their website not reflecting what is stated in their T&C. or if you're willing to complain all the way up to higher management if lower management would not give in.

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 15 2019, 11:13 AM)
Principal card: RM175
1st year annual fee waiver
*
Website not updated according to T&C (or maybe T&C not updated according to website. heh)

So I think we're at the second stage of gray area (first was December during the transition).

wahhhh I haven't went until that extent. Normally still within the bank's/company's management. BigPay I went to Bank Negara because they asked me to go ahead (so there should not be hard feelings because Saya Yang Menurut Perintah).

Owh, my bad sad.gif

I thought it was same as the redemption starting date.

I gotta ask them whether my card is free waiver or not later since i applied on december and activated on december
As they offered me during december 2018, the cs said is free waiver
*
They did tell me Dec is a gray area. Even their T&C was updated in Dec (they printed a December there) although it says starting Nov. As long as you're not billed this couple of months, it should be fine.

If that's the case, I don't see why Maybank can offer FC Barcelona VS without any AF. sweat.gif
*
cannot compare directly lah.

1. just my guess.
2. maybank is literally giving you money just to use the Barcelona card (0.2% from other banks/cards negligible to me).
3. Another assumption is Maybank Msia is making more money than Std Chartered Msia.
4. allocation given to the credit card dept.
5. different marking strategy.

Just received SMS that my application is failed.
Not sure what is the reason? But don't bother to know also!

Goodbye guys!

Sorry to hear that bro. Hope they'll relook into this as they've done for others (earlier post also someone was rejected and then later on approved). No one will know the reason.

I believe the reason of reject comes from high CL utilization.
I have been using 2 cards for PTPTN repayment.
*
sounds like it. though it's always a wonder to me how much can banks lose granting a few thousand limit. But of course, probably that's not enough for them to make good money.

Feedback time. Price Sols called back with my Liverpool application and told me first year annual fee is waived and second year no waiver and get jersey instead.

Even offered if I want credit limit increase. I would be ridiculously lucky to get an increase after 2 weeks, but I told them as long as it doesn't affect my application, I'm ok.

PS can promise you anything but the one who process the application is not them.
The number who called me for verification is not from PS.
*
ahhh i see.

Well, he told me that the conversation will be recorded, and the waiver is part of it. And I've screenshot their website and chat with CS to back up me claims. So if everything messes up, I'll have to make some complains higher up which is unnecessary hassle (hence the guinea pig).

ahh yeah, thanks bro.

I never received any verification calls when I applied the JOP. Only called from 03-7665xxxx. Didn't bother much with PS since their email is also @sc.com - that's what matters to me most.

Verification call is like questionnaire on top of your personal information verification:

1. Do you have a house loan?
2. Do you have a car loan?
3. Do you have a personal loan?
*
No woh. These are normally asked to verify that I'm me only. Checked my phone before I responded to you earlier, no calls at all from 03-86xxxxxx at all. Only calls from 03-7665xxxx.

Your application hasn't move to next stage is it?
PS staff told me that I'll be getting a call from SC for verification purpose.
*
JOP on hand already, application processed on Jan 2. Now Liverpool. JOP didn't went through all this woh. Liverpool process today, also didn't tell me someone will be calling.

I didn't apply Liverpool instantly because of the new T&C. Since everyone (who hasn't apply) also wondering, I made myself the guinea pig see can getaway with the $175 or not. I have enough data to substantiate, but bank entertain or not will be a different story altogether. Someone I befriended here say very easy to get waiver, so we'll see.

Maybe your financial credential is fantastic and they love you so much!
Maybe my credential is fishy triggering them to call me for extra verification process.
*
haha. maybe.

But not to worry - everyone has a bank that somehow "dislike" them. I've two.

Oh yeah, speaking of the verification. I thought they could've checked CCRIS instead of asking you. And I just recalled, a couple of other banks did ask if I've loan from unlicensed financial institution (or something like that). HSBC was one, another one I don't remember which. Maybe Citibank.

Received email from SC with subject Welcome to Standard Chartered eStatement. Does this mean application approved? Never receive any verification calls or SMS from SC.

Submitted application on last Friday (11/1) evening, probably process on Monday, today received this.
*
For some reason, you get the approval SMS last and your Poslaju tracking days after you receive the card.

Yup. Mail drop, but somehow Mr Postman delivered by hand.
