I've been reading the Liverpool T&C again. I think the first year waiver is valid. Nowhere it says that new cardholders have to pay instantly for first year annual fee. The reason for the separate clause for cards issued before/after Nov 2018 is because they need to honor the 20k spend annual fee waiver for existing cardholders.

After Oct 31 2019, everyone is subjected to the $175 annual fee.

Perhaps the personnel handling my JOP application was confused. If anyone wants to apply, can just ask if there's any first year annual fee waiver before you apply.

Maybe did not hit 1000x of #b2 quota, so randomly give out to #a1?

$28 is the 1500-2499 range spend. Sure you did 2500+ ? What's in your statement?

I see $2100 only jer woh. Follows calendar month, not statement month.

HSBC normally allow existing customer to join as long as last card application is not from the same campaign and 6 months cooling period. Rumor has it, if you apply cancel apply cancel, they will reject subsequent applications.

solution is to try again in a few years time. My friend got back his, but i didn't ask how many years.

new to bank or existing cardholder?

I applied later than you and as existing cardholder. they called back ask me submit docs within 2 days. After that no news. I called earlier today, they say still processing. Reason I called is because my application is not showing up in online banking. Thought I can keep track meself.

i thought new to bank would be faster. It was fast for me. Now add card I don't expect them to be fast vs new to bank.

I called 03 7711 8888. waited like 7 mins before a human picks up.

haha. when you know you applied for something, especially loans/credits, expect people to call you back mah. At least, search the net for the number that called you.

03-7665cxxx is SCB. If keep cannot reach you, god knows what they'll do with your application. Some will reject, some might keep calling.

At least return the missed call. SCB numbers are direct, not hidden behind general line.

Now you can reapply somewhere that give you gifts loh

the approval SMS comes at a much later stage (maybe later in the evening or a day or two), just like the PosLaju tracking came a week after receiving my card.

The parcel is printed as mail drop. Somehow a week later I received the SMS. Checked the tracking and shows that I signed for it.

If you know your card number, I don't see any problem signing up in advance.

I registered online, so it asks for card. When it appears that it didnt work, I wanted to SMS but that time already found out it's working, so end up didn't SMS.

I think it's L2. L1 already over. L1 is July period.

I don't know. I Just follow tips given here. Successful = you get SMS to spin after spending 100 on eligible spends. 3 business days is what everyone says. If you are eager, you can try 2 business days.
