QUOTE(hkenh @ Dec 12 2016, 02:39 PM) How long usually does it take them to approve the application. Applied the card for online transaction for Christmas gift shopping and Christmas is almost here already. If there any channel to speed up the approval process?? Call CS to check the status. They will usually tell you at what stage they're at e.g. documents submitted, pending approval, or embossing, or delivery. They can also give an estimate of timeline. |

QUOTE(justanovice @ Dec 12 2016, 07:58 PM) Good to see this thread. Seems can get rm150+rm150 by fulfilling the requirements then cancel the card if no waiver given when it is nearing 1 annual fee time. No catch. Just follow the TNC. SCB acquisition promos are like that - they probably bank on attracting large volumes and hoping that the majority of people will not hit and run. Is there any catch on this promo? It seems like foc rm300 for new customers. And these new customers may not even stay and pay the AF. I think our LYN forummers represent a very small minority of the population. Most people don't bother to sign up and maximise promo then cancel. |

I just realised my Nov cashback (paid in Dec) is higher than expected.
I bought a laptop during the 11.11 sale from Lazada for RM1900. It was never delivered and they processed the full refund around 22 Nov. I quickly spent RM750+ on Pos Online so that I could hit the threshold for 20% Uber rides (which also brought me over the RM833 cashback threshold). Since I spent only RM900+ in total, I thought I would put get RM25. But got full RM50. Anyone experienced this before, especially for refund situations (but refund was reflected in same month and statement) ? Did they claw back cashback subsequently? QUOTE(ftan @ Jan 3 2017, 04:20 PM) I paid cukai taksiran to MHDS via SCB website with mc cashback card. Then I chat with scb sc person and he said it qualifies for the cashback. Good to know. Wow that's great. Please confirm again once cashback received so that we have more options to pay.Seems like Gold cashback card is really quite flexible. I've been using for 2 months and so far pretty happy. |

QUOTE(fuzzy007 @ Jan 5 2017, 02:38 PM) did anyone here try to apply sc credit card through online before? how long does it take normally to contact me for required documents since I did not upload the document when register that time? Last time no one called me for about 3 days, so I called THEM to follow-up. Half an hour after my call, someone called me and e-mailed me with a list of documents. The process after that was very fast.its been about 2 weeks now but nobody contact me regarding the documents required Better you follow-up rather than wait. |

QUOTE(fuzzy007 @ Jan 5 2017, 02:55 PM) Last time, I called CS, gave them my application number, and shortly after, got a call from Price Solutions (the CC marketing arm of SCB) and an e-mail asking for documents. It was SO FAST after that. For me, I just want things to be done ASAP rather than waiting indefinitely for someone to handle my case. |

QUOTE(fuzzy007 @ Jan 5 2017, 04:08 PM) got reply from sc, unsucessful application, might because this is the first card I apply First card is always the toughest.didnt even get any documents from me then kena reject already If you really want a first card and want to "test" if there are problems getting approved, I suggest you try first with your salary-paying bank. Based on my experience, I had trouble getting my very first card (many many many years ago when I was young haha), even though my first salary in Malaysia was above RM5k and I had previous employment in other countries. My first successful CC application was thus from my salary-paying bank (Maybank), and they gave me a lousy credit limit (think it was just 1 month salary!). Gradually, once I started to build up credit record and slowly apply for credit limit increases, banks became much more relaxed in approving my applications. Good luck, and hope you eventually get approved |

QUOTE(rdevil33 @ Jan 7 2017, 03:27 PM) Received the sms on Oct and CB RM150 already credited few days ago. Agreed - 16k spend! And low yield. Totally not worth it. Yesterday received another sms to spend RM16K for CB RM250! Give up totally. Was expecting better CB rate but worse than 1st one I received. RM0.00 StanChart: Get RM250 Cashback with RM16,000 spend from 1/12/16 to 31/1/17. Start shopping with your credit card now! Visit on.sc.com/sg2e-my for T&C Not sure why I'm not receiving any of these SMS... I've got significant hospital bills to pay (baby delivery) next week and it'd be perfect if I got the RM5k offer too. |

QUOTE(justanovice @ Jan 29 2017, 05:06 PM) Yes i also feel scb gives very low credit limit. Also, i believe you have a few BT in progress right. Could it be due to that reason as well? If you're not using, can cancel and reapply after cooling off period (typically 3 to 6 months) to qualify for future acquisition offers. Congrats. You just can't stop earning from cards.. too bad i am an existing scb card member, too bad as i sm not using it , just keeping the card only because it was my first card. This is my 4th round of cancelling and reapplying for SCB cards. |
