Just wanna ask how long did you wait after the activation to get that RM150 ?

My card has been activated since December 2016 but I still have not gotten it yet.
*
I think it's in batches. Mine was applied late Sep, activated in Oct and got the cash back in late Jan.

Great. Thanks for that info. Because I want to pay for insurance which comes to about RM4200 monthly.
*
QUOTE(donhue @ Feb 15 2017, 04:13 PM)
Paying 4200 on insurance monthly will nett you 0 cashback for SC Gold.

Can consider Alliance you:nique, which will give you RM 53.6 for 4.2k spending..
*
For that level of spending, consider HLB Fortune. You will get RM42 every month, plus a bonus of RM280 if you spend more than 38k per year (which you will, as RM4200 x 12 is approx RM50k). That means you'll get effective monthly cash back of RM65.3 if you use solely for your RM4200 insurance.

If you spend RM68k per year (which is only RM18k more than your insurance spending), you will get a bonus of RM880. That means total effective cashback per month is RM50 + RM73 = RM123.

There a HLB Fortune thread if you want to discuss further.

Just get email confirmation from SC bank, it is considered as online transaction/payment.

Yes ACCA should be online. But how was the foreign currency conversion rate? I normally don't use SCB to online for foreign currency transactions. With PBB VS I get 6% and a good conversion rate.

I think use SC just one platinum is the best as i can utilise to earn max RM 85 cash back and i do not have PBB VS.
Conversion is 1 GBD equal RM 5.668. Is this rate ok?
*

[/quote]

Doesn't sound too bad. Not sure how SCB ranks for foreign currency transactions, but you're right, makes sense to use SCB for the RM85. Out of curiosity, how much does ACCA cost nowadays? Luckily GBP is not so strong now.

For PBB VS, the max cashback is RM50 anyway, so SCB would be better. But I made my professional subscription payment during the PBB promotion period so I got RM100.

When apply the SC card, sales person informed that swipe any amount within 60 days will have RM150 cash rebate.

Now is 3rd month of the card, but i still not yet received RM150 cash rebate.

Anyone happened similar case?
*
You're likely to get it soon I think.

For me, I applied Sep, activated Oct, received in Jan. So its 3-4 months, and I think in batches.

Once we hit RM750 per month, we get to enjoy 20% cashback for 12 months? Or only on that RM750 month?

You need to hit 750 per month.

Thanks. need to hit 750 early in the month? Effective for whole month or only rides after hitting 750?
*
As long as you hit 750, the 20% is applicable for the whole month. A very straightforward promotion.

Hi.

I have overpayment of +RM0.50 in my credit card balance and the customer service refused to cancel the card on the basis that it must be RM0.00 in the balance.

Anyone is encounter this?

They are holding it back in all possible ways to pass the anniversary in April to charge annual fee.

QUOTE(knwong @ Mar 27 2017, 11:13 PM)
Wow I foresee this may happen to me if I cancel my CashBack cc. Their rebate always will make your balance +positive.

Looking forward to hear the solution here
*
Haven't experienced this policy as I always zerorize my card before cancelling. I suspect for larger amounts they should be obliged to transfer to a CASA (although they may make you weit in and do a lot of admin to get it). However for 50 sen, they may have policies to make you surrender it or spend it. But I'm just speculating.

Anyway, since your amount is negligible, here's my suggestion:

If you have a positive balance, shortly after you receive your cashback or credit etc, just make an online transaction (e.g. Pay TNB or Mobile etc) to bring your balance to zero. Once its been posted (in a couple of days usually), call CS and cancel. Makes sense right?

If you bother to read back these posts you will know I won't bother so much of CL and if you bother to read how much to maximize JustOne and Cash Back Gold, you will know 5K is not enough plus to enjoy 20-day free interest period.
Not sure who's the empty tin.
*
Oh I recall my first SCB card - RM8k! Was lower than monthly salary. However I always cancel and reapply... And subsequent cards had much higher CL.

*
The general CS number 1300888888.

I just called.

Just a tip, once approved you should get an SMS saying case dispatched. Once you get that, call CS to get your tracking number. SCB sends cards via Pos Laju which is incredibly unreliable. Never in my life have Pos Laju delivered a card to me. They pretend to come to my place, but instead leave it in Brickfields Pos Laju centre. Best to get the tracking number so you know what's happening.

Search through the forum regarding JomPay transaction, found mixture of answer.. can anyone share their experience on the 2 cards below:

1. Just One Platinum - are JomPay transaction treated as Online transaction and entitled for Cashback?

2. CashBack Gold Card - are JomPay transaction counted as retail transaction and entitled for cashback?
*
QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Sep 20 2017, 01:50 PM)
yes for both, i use jompay every month and get the rm135 for both

I just received my Just One card and wanted to confirm the following:

Just One - JOMPAY via SCB online for utilities (e.g. Syabas, IWK etc) confirmed eligible for CB?

I will experiment this month, but wanted to check if there have been any updates to the experience previously reported.
