QUOTE(T231H @ Dec 10 2016, 01:54 PM) more like specifically targeting companies that I have faith in.if anyone is interested place GUNUNG and Sunway along with Sunreit in your watch lists. Gunung is starting their two hydroelectric dams next year where as Sunway is starting the Iskandar Development project Outlook for construction and property for malaysia 2017 seems to be shining brightly. |

Gunung is starting their two hydroelectric dams next year where as Sunway is starting the Iskandar Development project Outlook for construction and property for malaysia 2017 seems to be shining brightly. BMI View: The real growth in Malaysia's construction sector is set to moderate over the coming years, decelerating from an estimated 10.7% in 2015 to 7.8% in 2016 and 6.6% in 2017. Transport segment will remain the bright spot, driving overall growth, while the non-residential segment will weight on growth. http://store.bmiresearch.com/malaysia-infr...ure-report.html |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Dec 8 2016, 11:32 PM) Xuzen. I currently have Anita and Esther bond fund. would you suggest I switch Anita to esther/another equity or keep both at the same time. Go Esther go! II) Top up MYR 5,000.00 into AM Asia-Pac Reits = slowpoke but steady, my kind of fun(d). Xuzen This post has been edited by xuzen: Dec 10 2016, 02:51 PM |

QUOTE(xuzen @ Dec 10 2016, 02:39 PM) thank you Master. I know you been busy the entire week. hope everything goes well for you there.QUOTE(T231H @ Dec 10 2016, 02:05 PM) contrarian view?? not as a whole but you buy into specific companies. Sarawak here, multiple construction projects that have been given green light to open up factories and development areas. I intend to focus my Malaysian exposure in construction and manufacturing industries. QUOTE(john123x @ Dec 10 2016, 12:36 AM) it will takes some times, i kinda got to read 121 pages. I don't suggest you to read all the post here. To be fair, the post in this version is trending one direction. Alot of new investors talking about rebalancing and skimming profits. And to be fair, they are new, while they mean good intention in giving their opinions, please understand a certain level bias exist...one of the fund i am interested, is the kenanga growth fund, i checked, its quite consistent return for over 10 years I think it may be more beneficial for you to read the articles on fsm. Take the information but form your own judgement. After all, fsm articles are written by humans not fortune tellers. On a more objective view, if you do comparison between malaysia funds and non-malaysian funds and looking at performance over long period >5 years, you will find that definitely the malaysian funds are better. 2 reasons i can think of: 1) cause lack of forex to make it more volatile. 2) non-malaysian funds have not always been that great last time (possibly due to lack of expertise, or other reasons, but i think pinkspider here mentioned once, many years ago people suffering badly due to china fund and barely struggling to break even, even now). Caveat: Lately it has been really good, but please note that this is mainly due to weak ringgit. I am unable to objectively assess whether without this effect, would the funds be showing such good return or a positive return in fact (a message i have been trying to caution new investors but falling on deaf ears). QUOTE(prince_mk @ Dec 10 2016, 09:29 PM) dude. don't abandon rhb AIF. it's already one of the funds that propped up my portfolio after trump massacre and look at the spike in the charts. I think xuzen made a mistake by focusing on am Asia Reits and it was one of trump victims but also recovering rapidly. Unlike Malaysian funds. PS. I cannot stand people who do not give any input to the conversation and never once above I read any facts or numbers from them to back up their principles but instead chose to be passive aggressive by calling us nay sayers. I would suggest if you cannot be nice or be productive do kindly not post anything at all |

QUOTE(opticc @ Dec 10 2016, 11:55 PM) I'm not really someone who likes confrontation and conflicts, so I'm just gonna say that you should read a lot - not just from this forum or FSM. There's no one correct way to do this, otherwise everyone would be having identical portfolio, down to the % of allocation. As long as you follow some tips like diversification, DCA/VA, risk budgeting... you're good to go. Do that and if you fail to achieve your performance target, reassess your strategy and identify what you've been doing wrong. |
