as usual, they wanted to cram as many things in as possible.

maybe they wanted to be like the GBA...
the GBA had/has an IR port as well, but the only games i know that used them were the pokemon games...

Ah..And i thought i can use the IR to transfer file to the PSP...LOL...

Guess its useless then... tongue.gif

there are lots of ways to differentiate..uncle google

but the easiest is to plug in and check the magicgate status in psp

most of th fake will show 'unknown' while the original mspd from sony and sandisk will show supported

by package, most easy to discern, ori one will have an additional Sony Malaysia sticker on the right handside of the package, with some ID or serial no. that u can trace at sony website

1. still running on 3.60 m33 and not sure if i should update to 3.71 m33. since there is a 3.72 already released will there be a3.72 m33 soon?

2. also, i don't understand how to update to 3.71 m33-2 cause there seems to be two parts -- the firmware update and kernel update? which should be done first? or should they be done together?

thanks!

Have it this way..All PSP has the capability to play homebrew game depending on the Custom Firmware. All you need to do is flash it to a Custom Firmware, particularly from M33 and you will be able to play it...

Well, i do recommend you getting it from dealers as they are offering cheaper price and already come preloaded with custom firmware.
