QUOTE(DS_Legacy @ Jul 20 2019, 02:10 AM) My last flash gun repair was SB910. The flashgun drop from less than 1 meter tall only, and cannot fire. Total damage RM600+. Don't bother repairing unless u really cannot find a used unit. Nah, if too expensive it will just stay as slave unit for off camera until I replace it with AD200 in the future... just wonder if any done the repairs before.

QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Jul 29 2019, 03:56 PM) Still have another SB900 with working wheel, just gonna retire this one into sub flash probably until I get AD200Pro for rim light. Main light I bought AD400Pro the other day, cause it was on sale below RM2000 but my parabolic not yet arrive so didn't unbox yet.

QUOTE(IceFlame21 @ Aug 12 2019, 07:09 PM) Hello guys, I’m looking for a full frame because I’ve been doing a lot of low light photography nowadays and my d5300 is starting to show its limitations. So I need advices, I’ve been looking at the d750 and wanting to know is it a good buy even though it’s 5years old already? Or should I invest in the z6? Do you have FF lens at the moment? If yes, do they work with Z series?

QUOTE(IceFlame21 @ Aug 12 2019, 07:59 PM) I have 2 primes and 1 kit lens. The 35 and 50 and the 18-55. I think with the mount it should work with the Z series cameras? 35 DX or FX? and if its the AF-S it would work, but if its the AF-D then it won't work. Cost effective the D750 would fit better, but Z6 if you looking for the future. The Z mount is great, but the lens are pretty pricey.

QUOTE(IceFlame21 @ Aug 12 2019, 08:37 PM) 35 is dx and the 50 is fx and it’s the af-s. Hmm, do u have other suggestions aside from the d750? My budget is around 5k. DX 35mm f/1.8G would be auto cropped when used at Nikon Z, thus equal to 50mm. While your 50mm f/1.8G would use the entire full frame thus both lens would be more or less same FOV. To be honest, the D750 is a solid body. Can't go wrong with that, and it fits nicely into your budget. The Z is a bit out, unless you can look for 2nd hand, not sure if able to get within 5k.

QUOTE(COOLPINK @ Aug 19 2019, 04:08 PM) agree the d750 is still a solid camera. for your tight budget i recommend you get the d750 and invest in some good fast lenses to complement it. nikon z lenses are not cheap. But after using Nikon Z lens... the lens I even my fav f-mount lens becomes meh LOL. You start to appreciate the CA control on the Z lens... they are superb. Guess the new mount allows the engineers to fit in more elements for correction.

QUOTE(COOLPINK @ Aug 20 2019, 08:27 AM) yeah they are dang good, worth the price if you can afford it hehe. they have to be to support the higher resolution of the z7 and the newer z-series in the future. but for now the pricing at least for me RM2.5k+ for 50mm f/1.8 is expensive, but optics is superb. I mean... the it doesn't match the nifty fifty price tag lol.

QUOTE(OOtaii @ Sep 3 2019, 11:26 PM) Anyone knows how does instant cash back works? Does it mean that price advertised by camera shop already take into account the "instant" cash back? or cash back should be redeemed from Nikon MY later ? https://www.kldslr.com/Nikon-Z6-with-24-70m...tml-18110828086 Likely included in the price already, perhaps can call them up to confirm. At least for my previous purchase it was included.

QUOTE(sparx73 @ Sep 23 2019, 03:59 PM) just curious, but anyone here still using the D700? also, any recommendations for a good camera repair/service guy? nikon malaysia (and most likely, worldwide) no longer supports the D700. Yeah, no more support for D700 officially. Can try YL perhaps. That's why if buying 2nd hand D700, those high shutter count ones are risky. If really want to repair, I believe these guys at Taiwan can do it. http://www.nrcintaiwan.com/IndexEN.aspxThis post has been edited by celciuz: Sep 23 2019, 04:50 PM

QUOTE(Loseeker @ Oct 15 2019, 10:50 PM) Just realized the holy trinity prime (35mm, 50mm, 85mm) f1.8s lenses of nikon Z mount is much more expensive than all the 3 Sony E mount counterpart... Are you comparing with the equivalents? In terms of IQ, eg for 50S the Sony equivalent is the 55mm 1.8 Cause these lens, 50 1.8 but like Nikon own AF-S is designed as nifty fifty while the 50S is all out for performance.

QUOTE(Loseeker @ Oct 17 2019, 12:47 AM) Even the sony zeiss 55 f1.8 is cheaper than nikon 50mm f1.8 for Z mount. I bought the 50 1.8 S at about RM2500, I searched around Shopee for the Sony 55 1.8 is about 2.8~2.9.

QUOTE(rebornyama @ Oct 23 2019, 08:48 PM) Anyone still using the D600? You guys still got the oil/dust issue? Borrowed my dad's D600 (casual photographer, these days uses his phone pretty much all the time lol) for my trip to Japan and just realized during editing that there's oil spot everywhere. Thought Nikon fixed the issue when he sent it for service a while back, but nope, looks like the issue's back. Considering Nikon is going to discontinue the free service next Jan, I'm wondering if it's best to just sell off the camera and get a smaller mirrorless camera instead. Thoughts? "Smaller mirrorless" is likely Nikon Z since you wanna be using back your F mount lenses?

QUOTE(wkwong91 @ Oct 23 2019, 11:26 PM) My last body was D600 but I never encounter oil/dust issue. Maybe mine was newer batch. If u have budget, just sell ur D600 and get mirrorless. The newer batch had improved mirror box design, that was the "fix" which affected serial numbers would get replacement for.

QUOTE(rebornyama @ Oct 26 2019, 07:14 PM) Only have the 24-85mm kit lens and a 50 1.8g, so not much in terms of glasses. Was planning on getting the tamron 24-70 g2, but if i'm going to sell the d600, not sure if that's a good idea since the internet is showing mixed result on whether the tamron is compatible with the z system or not. Heard that it is, but need firmware update. But then again, if I were to use the ftz adapter with the g2... it probably won't be that much smaller than with the D600 right? lol. Only till early next year though. So need to go out more and shoot before the offer ends. Looks like you haven't invested much in the Nikon system, can consider the Z or maybe jump ship to something smaller like X-T30. Crop sensor lens are usually smaller, but well... its a "downgrade", somewhat.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Oct 26 2019, 09:56 PM) since the last trip to japan, people still thought my camera expensive and when i check my d800, it is like an iphone price maybe wait like years to wait mirrorless drop price then go trade it ... since the walking to the shrine mountain it is really tired lol but what's improvement of Z6 vs D800? (if both lens is 24-70mm f/2.8), like weight balancing, battery per shot, the price of QXDmemory card and the future how the price gonna drop or it is never drop one whatever, also the QXD vs CF card... (or just downgrade to Z50 ) Weight balancing = D800 Battery per shot = D800 Price for memory card = D800
