QUOTE(adamw @ Nov 28 2021, 11:51 AM) Yes, used cat6 & wired it even for points that you are not sure. If double storey or more run cat6 to every floor link with the designated fiber incoming supply. You won't regret doing this. Though the camera is PoE type, should I add power point next to it for future proof in additional power source required? Technology won't go backwards. And actually even though it's POE, only 2 pairs is being used, Cable 1236. You still have 4578 as spares. This post has been edited by adamw: Nov 28 2021, 02:28 PM

Any implication of viewing online via internet if the resolution is high? This post has been edited by ckl1998: Nov 30 2021, 02:24 PM

Any implication of viewing online via internet if the resolution is high? You will only need 120dB WDR or higher if the camera is in a low light placement looking out into a brightly lit environment. If price is not an issue, there is no disadvantage on using 5Mp or even 8Mp(4k). For internet viewing you can always select the 2nd stream if bandwidth is low. In fact some app will prompt you to switch to low resolution iautomatically.

Sure but I think Ip camera/nvr they should be selling rebadge UNV, well at least that was before MCO when their sales contacted me. As for HD Analog HVR, they used to be selling the XMeye aka Xiongmai. Just google Xiongmai and you will know how great it is

Here is the spec of the camera, price is close to 400 per piece, competitive?

I have one demo of same spec ipc just without SDcard but added in speaker for 2 way audio plus white led. If you want to view live can PM me for instructions. I have yet to set the AI though. I have yet to set the AI though. Bullet type is with 4.0mm lens whereas dome type is 2.8mm. Understand 2.8mm has wider viewing angle. What other consideration should I take into account in deciding a bullet or dome? My usage is for residential, 2 story terrace, to monitor car porch, back lane, balcony and internals like dining and living hall.

Would not recommend 5Mp with 2.8mm lens. For aesthetic normally will used dome for indoor. 4k bulletThis post has been edited by adamw: Dec 1 2021, 11:54 AM

Even though your TV 1080p if you used 5Mp or higher when you zoom in can see more details. Just buy a 4 channel POE NVR, forget about the POE switch. No need internet/router still can view/playback and you only need 4x cat6 to view on TV locally. Taobao you need ask seller if have English GUI.

I thought most of the small sized poe nvr boxes do not provide power to the cameras....thats why need poe switch to provide power. if can find one that provides power directly and cheap would be perfect. less 1 item to place on shelf & less one power point.
