tokdukun oh noes.

but notice that he's not using Samsung original charger to charge his note 7.

the very 1st case of a burned down note 7 was that china case where the person used a third party charger with an old Samsung galaxy cable with a micro-usb-to-usb-type-c converter.

Bullshit I don't read newspaper everyday.

If u lazy as fark, just open fb account and go like news pages like the star, nst or tech newspages like The Verge, and many more.

What's the point of using expensive phone when u are not fully utilise the phone

yeah I use 3rd party charger for my previous phones, but when Samsung started using adaptive fast charging with the note4, I stopped using 3rd party.

the note 7 has only been charged by the free wireless charger, the free Samsung original powerbank and of course, the pack in charger.

ok sometimes I use a 3rd party charger for the note 4, but since note 7 uses usb type c socket, it necessitates using it's own cable and charger.

Dah tau Note7 battery more likely to explode, still use cap ayam charger. Bodo.

Benson Leung, the google engineer who test USB-C cables recently fried his laptop cuz of poor cables short circuiting it. Newer device now not as simple as during S3, S5, ip6 time. With fast charging and USB-C port in most devices nowadays including Note7, it doesn't pay to skimp and use cheap, uncertified charger.

Especially since Note7 more likely to explode, gotta be more diligent if still wanna use the phone. Stick to ori charger only.

SME will still likely to compensate him, on top of full refund.

the Samsung shop that I preordered called me on Saturday telling me about the refund or replace with s7e + rm300 cash option.

he said I can come on Monday to do it.

but just this afternoon called me that they are sold out of s7e replacement units and in fact recommend me to just get the full refund (while getting to keep the freebies and extra charger/earphones/cables etc.).

If it's certified eg Aukey, Anker, Tronsmart, Choetech etc known ones, it's ok, but they can cost quite a bit.

So they instead get those cap ayam rm5, 10 ones, definitely dangerous.

if he is tech savvy enough to use facebook to post the news of the incident, i am sure that he knows about the news before this via social media at least, he doesn't even need to read a newspaper.

sadly i do not have much sympathy for this guy, any mishap that happened is on him and his ignorance. maybe he is just trying his luck. but judging from the way he writes his post, i can tell that he is one of those typical attention seeker on facebook.

the recall is featured in the tv news, printed newspaper, technology blogs, magazines, forums, facebook shares, twitter, Instagram, youtube etc. i am amazed if he really did miss all that.

oh well, i guess even when zombie apocalypse hit one day, there will be at least one or two idiots who will be wondering where are everyone and why the city is deserted

you guys blaming him for not being up to date about the note 7 recall? Regardless if he was indeed ignorant on the matter, it isn't his duty as a customer to keep constantly up to date companies announcements.
It simply isn't. In the event of an maloccurrence such as this one, the only party to blame is the manufacturer for selling such a phone in the first place. If it was so much of a hazard, Samsung should have pushed a firmware update disabling all Note 7's still in circulation as suggested by Mr Ng.
Sure, samsung made a few corrective measures by spreading the message of their return policy and yada yada but no number of steps forward can counter how far back they went simply by selling potential bombs

Frankly...I don't think Samsung can just disable the phone ...
There are legal issues.
If they do that ppl will complain they can't access their contact, lost rm1bil deal coz of that and what not.
Even if they can, they can't ensure 100% will update the firmware. The remaining who doesn't will still act like this uncle..so I blame it on his ignorance.

Two lessons:

-Think many, many times before you decide to post this on social media. Think many more times if you want to make it viral intentionally. The risk of backfire is proportionate in reverse to the thought given before you post something.

-Bring back removable battery in flagship phones. I cannot speak for many, but I believe majority are with me when I say nobody actually gives a f*ck about the phone being 2mm slimmer than its previous iteration.

Ah, really? Maybe it bothers a lot of people more than I thought, having a 2mm thicker device and extra 10 grams to hold must be a really hard feat to do. I mean, 10 grams are a lot to an ant.

Yup. It's 2016 not 1916. No one picks up a newspaper. The news is all over the place.

That was just an excuse to push ALL blame to Samsung. Granted, Samsung made a shitty phone, but he should've stopped using it once the issue was publicized.

I didn't actually pay attention to that due to Note 5 removed what I loved from Note 4 though, but judging by the trend, the phones will get slimmer generation by generation. When Note 7 early info leaked and they said the MicroSD card slot would be back, it piqued my interest back but sadly the battery was still non-removable sad.gif

Because if you see. People now doesnt use a phone for a long time. So the chance for anyone to change battery is small.

And battery nowadays is good enough. You can use your note 4 for 2 years without feeling the battery performance deteriorated

What was your previous phone?

I prefer removable battery simply because I don't have to carry powerbank all the time and it is cheaper and much easier to replace the battery when it has deteriorated down the line in a few years. I don't change my handphones every one or two cycles, as long as I could use them (with minimal effort and cost to maintain), I would use them.

And it's for a 'surety' that in case shit hits the fan, by removing the battery, you know for sure the power source is cut off completely.

Yeah, there are powerbank nowadays, quickcharge in certain models some more. In case of real emergency and circumstances stopped you from recharging the battery though powerbank, I could just simply swap the battery. It has already happened to me, so lesson learnt biggrin.gif

It is now a federal crime to bring a Galaxy Note 7 onto an airplane

http://www.theverge.com/

The Federal Aviation Administration officially banned Galaxy Note 7s from being brought onto airplanes earlier this week, and under a new Emergency Restriction / Prohibition Order, it’s now a federal crime to fly with the device.

The FAA issued Emergency Restriction/Prohibition Order No. FAA-2016- 9288 on Friday, which states that as of noon on October 15, fliers are prohibited from bringing the device onto an aircraft. The order restricts passengers from carrying the phone "on their person, in carry-on baggage, in checked baggage, or as cargo," and says that anyone who inadvertently brings one on a plane must power it down immediately. Carriers are also required to "deny boarding to a passenger in possession" of the phone.

Passengers who bring a Note 7 onto a plane are "subject to civil penalties of up to $179,933 for each violation for each day they are found to be in violation (49 U.S.C. 5123)," and could be prosecuted, which could "result in fines under title 18, imprisonment of up to ten years, or both (49 U.S.C. 5124)."

I just don't understand why when the news have spread all over the world that note7 is not safe to use and even airlines have banned all note 7 onboard and drop luggage, those note 7 still ignore these warnings as if they are the lucky one and nothing will happen to them. Pls change or disaster waiting tohappen. If you want to die, pls die alone. Imaging if u are in public transport, what would happened?
