QUOTE(mystvearn @ Oct 13 2017, 06:41 PM) Uhm. Hard to answer cause I don't own one. What I can say is you won't miss turbo power for sure since it has one as well.. besides handling I guess it wins in everything else. |

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Oct 14 2017, 06:58 AM) Didn't. Borrowed one for work purposes. You'll definitely like it a lot. An X-trail has a quieter cabin and engine but loses out in many ways. 2.5L you pay a lot of road tax and don't get a lot more over the 2.0L. The CRV would be absolutely perfect if it has AVM like the X trail This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Oct 14 2017, 09:57 AM |

QUOTE(ken_hidaibuki @ Oct 22 2017, 06:21 PM) Hi all masta here... Just planning to buy this car... Any advice for newbie like me... What shud expect or shud look for.. Any modification should be done to make it better... High fuel consumption, average NVH, potential gearbox turbo oil cooler hose and etc issue.MBO for extra power, extra sound deadening for engine and road noise. Door sound deadening and speaker/tweeter upgrade since the tweeters suck at high volume. Maybe head unit if you have cash for a properly good one |

QUOTE(ken_hidaibuki @ Oct 23 2017, 09:28 PM) Average nvh as?? Sory not a car guy... Head unit as a center entertainment panel?? Such radio n gps??? For handling need to upgrade anything..?? Average ride refinement.Yes, head unit is the radio/touchscreen Handling just change to better tyres like PS4. You won't need to install a few million stages worth of ultra racing bars just to do 80kmh or even 120kmh around a corner or bend. The original Continental tyres should be good enough though. QUOTE(heavensea @ Nov 14 2017, 03:35 PM) Hi guys.. Many Preve and Suprima suffer from this. I never did, but I switched from original to high performance halogen to Osram HIDs within a year. I was told that the voltage regulation is poor for this car. Anyone have experience that the "same side" of car front lamp (low beam) always burnt? I just changed it at proton sc (H7/55W) and It's spoiled again... The sc told me it might be due to wiring problem, (heard about wiring make me nervous already)... I google, and some say thay it's perhaps the "electric power level" issue. Please advise me on this matter, thank you. Go ahead and try to get them to change whatever related wiring first before you consider switching to LED or HID |

QUOTE(mafia1980 @ Dec 5 2017, 07:56 PM) Hi guys, i have some questions about suprima, 1. Does the front passenger side glove box have lights inside? i forgot.. haha.. ELEK 2. I got vibrating feedback when cruising 120kmh.. (gone to service centre changed front disc 2 times now.. meaning 4 disc ady.. changed new tyres done alignment balancing ady.. but still vibrate lerr..) can someone chime in on what to do to rectify this problem? If your rims are in good shape and the balancing is ok, your tyre are the problem. Csc 3? Mine were almost all out of shape. Given by proton. 3. If i install an aftermarket diverter valve, can it void my warranty? (tempting to install because can hear turbo fluttering) Probably. 4. I randomly got hu error saying "Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped" not all the time.. sometimes ok.. sometime not.. any idea? Go to a service centre and ask them to update your head unit. 5. Is there any plug and play audio head unit that can fit this car without compromising the original button function? Have to seek advice from the professionals.. try EA Autoworks. 6. I had an issue when the key jumps out from keyfob while driving.. haha.. bundled keys too heavy i guess? which makes me wonder.. If lets say i have a quick grocery run, i just take out the key without shutting off engine.. does the car drives without it if somebody else suddenly drove the car?.. haha stupid question.. but anyone knows how safe this push button system is? anyone tried? You can drive without the keys after starting, so yes, unsafe. For how long I've never tested. im using 2016 model suprima... 10 months old.. got many question.. but thats it for now.. plz comment.. and thanks.. |

QUOTE(heavensea @ Dec 6 2017, 07:51 AM) Hi guys, my car's "Rear Wiper Arm Nut" (That block cover that cover the nut of rear wiper) has been missing.. No experience. Can try asking proton parts centre about it. Should be fairly cheap. A new rear wiper arm is only less than rm80 if I'm not mistaken.Where can I buy this? Can I get it at service centre? Anyone has experience? |

QUOTE(heavensea @ Dec 6 2017, 09:15 AM) Not sure. QUOTE(wiraman @ Dec 7 2017, 04:54 PM) Hello guys, Under warranty? Send to sc and ask them to settle it for you. If not go to somewhere like Zordaq Motorsport and see if they can help you.Need your help. My car check engine light pop up. SC clear the error code but it came out again after a few days. Error code based on scan is P011-00 enduring camshaft position deviation at steady set point. Thanks if anyone can advise what is the issue n how to resolve. SC says it has to do with OCV. |

QUOTE(maraippo @ Dec 24 2017, 08:15 PM) For the HU can we change to any aftermarket? Or need to have specific model? Will it affect proton current system if we change the HU? As long as the head unit fits. Not sure if the front or rear parking system will still work, but for the rear I believe you will still be able to connect up the reverse cam to the Reverse AV In port of the new head unit you're buying (if it has one), though you will need to find someone who has done this, or spend some time finding the correct wires for the reverse camera and modifying it to have a male AV connector. I have removed the head unit by myself before and did not see any AV connectors, so the reverse cam's wiring is made specifically for use with the lousy Blaupunkt head unit, or with the rear parking module (if there is one). |

QUOTE(wk_edifire @ Jan 16 2018, 10:19 AM) OK 1) FC is bad. Probably the same or just slightly worse than your Saga though. Maybe even better since you don't need to use much throttle to get moving. It's better than my last Persona. Can I hear your opinion on this I was thinking of changing my Proton Saga Flx to a used Proton Suprima 1)Bcoz I like the look and but I just scare the petrol consumption going to be bad. 2)Is the Proton Suprima powerful ? 3)Is the cars worth the money. 4) I thought of keeping the money and later few more years only change to Honda city or vios If no change cars maybe I will just upgarde my Proton Saga Like puts speaker and change rims . 2) It's not a performance hatch back. It's faster than most typical cars on the road, but don't expect to go more than 210KM/H without modifying it slightly such as getting a remap (MBO by EA Autoworks). Acceleration is where this car shines at compared to most new cars at 100K and below. Speed wise it is pretty much in the same bracket (200KM/H or less) unmodified. 3) It highly depends on your needs. If you need a reliable, very comfortable, quiet, fuel efficient and etc car, this is not for you. Reliability: Subjective. Some owners have it easy, some don't. You don't want to drag the service interval with this car. If you're buying used pay extra attention. Comfort: Subjective also. Some say hard as rock, some say comfortable. Try it for yourself. 4) What are you looking for in a car? If you don't enjoy fast cornering don't bother with this car. It's only one of the few redeeming characteristics of the Suprima. The other two includes cabin space and above average power for the price for me. |

QUOTE(merinyu @ Jan 21 2018, 02:24 PM) Anyone here solved the rear brake squeaking sound. I'm thinking of changing the brake pads to ceramic one. I have asked the SC to service the brakes so many times but no solution. Original pads are probably no good. I suffer from high pitch brake noise, which luckily isn't too loud. COSE skimmed the pads after I complained, and they basically made it worse. The front pads now squeak from time to time too even when hot. Most probably low quality brake pads since they are still thick and not even worn out yet. Any workshop near PJ to recommend. I went to one but no stock. FYI below is a very informative video on brake squeaking issues: Brake squeaking |

QUOTE(Nafirii @ Feb 11 2018, 01:28 AM) Anyone recommend installing the oil catch tank on the suprima? EA Autoworks. Good workmanship.Do you know where can i get it and how much does it cost? Will it void warranty? And what are the benefits for the car? OCT is recommended because it'll stop oil from accumulating on the intake (turbo onwards). It should not void the warranty but as usual anything that is not from the factory is a reason to void. |

QUOTE(pucksz @ Feb 25 2018, 05:24 PM) To the sifus and otais here, Jazz is much more refined; more quiet, smoother CVT, better NVH. It loses in the power and handling aspect. Space wise it's actually very spacious, and the seats support well. I find the Suprima much more comfortable however as the Jazz has a tendency to sway especially on bumpy roads. It's worth it if you prioritise power and good handling over other things. You'll have to spend money on improving the NVH by doing sound deadening for the engine and road noise, but it'll be worth it. I just took my wife to have a look at the Suprima S. We were initially going to buy a Jazz but she really likes the Suprima S so we are considering changing to this car. After the test drive, what was noticeable was the handling was good. Ride was a little firm. Interior space is better compared to a Jazz. Can you please let me know what are the common problems for the Suprima? Also since you are all driving it, any regrets? Worth the money you paid for? We are likely going to buy the premium. Thanks. Maintenance wise it is a lot more pricey to maintain compared to a Jazz as it has a Turbo engine. Basically you'll need to pay extra attention to the engine oil you're using as cheap ones can cause sludge to build up which will eventually cause the turbo to spoil. Not servicing on-time or early can also cause this to happen. Tyres are also much more expensive as it is 17 inches, but you do get a lot more high performance tyre options for this size. The biggest headache that some owners will have is CVT gearbox failure. Quite many have had their gearbox fail in their Suprima/Preve, but some of them are very aggressive with the throttle. If you're the sort that can feather the throttle when moving from a standstill, you're less likely to have the gearbox fail. This applies to any other CVT gearbox basically, but Proton's current CVT gearbox is especially sensitive as it is using a clutch instead of a torque converter. Overall I don't regret buying this car because I know what I want in the cars I buy, and how to fix most of the problems (especially rattling issues). Go on more test drives with the Suprima, and try to test for as long as possible especially in stop-n-go traffic situation. The CVT gearbox characteristic can be a really big turn off for some people, especially those who expect very strong initial acceleration (I hate this kind of drivers cause as a passenger they'll make you vomit).
