You used unofficial way to perform what? Install root/xposed/etc?

It's just a software issue, can be recovered easily.

When you root, your suppose not to update using the updater from MIUI. When you update, the phone will brick.

Only way is to use EDL method to reflash MIUI firmware onto the phone.

What's the difference if update Xiaomi device when unlock and locked? Both suppose to be able to update via the updater MIUI app right?

Not sure about Xiaomi, because for my Mi Max I flash weekly EU ROM using TWRP. But for my previous OnePlus phone, it will brick if OTA update when rooted.

Let it me. I have warned her not to update but she forgot.

So my question is/: If normal repairer outside handphone shop knows how to use EDL method to reflash?

*if* your phone can boot into fastboot mode(power + vol down) then got a chance to unbrick by using edl mode (check faq on first page)

Haha, obviously Mi Max is Xiaomi laugh.gif .What I meant was I'm not sure how does Xiaomi handles OTA when using the updater app.

I can see now why the problem arise in jack2 case. By the way, unlock unofficially means by what kind of way?

For my Mi Max previously while waiting for unlock permission, I install TWRP on my locked bl using a method from xda. Is this called unofficial unlock or there is other ways to do so?

If cant boot into fastboot mode, how?

If can, EDU mode will erase off all the data?

Flashing via EDL would clean off all data?

Wonder if it is possible to backward to replace the mdb file first?
