Netflix a few days ago announced all their movies/programmes are now downloadable for subscribers. Maybe those on Postpaid 110 can download as much as possible during the weekend to watch later.

can i access the 100gb during weekend if i use the extra sim (rm10)?

Nope. But you can share by creating a mobile hotspot from your phone with the main SIM. Or if you're not expecting to make or receive calls that day, you can pop that main SIM into your modem/router.

Now that my old Celcom broadband is coming to the end of its contract, I have a decision to make as to what my next internet plans are going to be like.

Currently:
Main line: Hotlink FAST with free 1GB every Sat and 1GB every Sun
Broadband: Celcom First Gold (Old) 7GB anytime + 14GB 2am-8am

My options:
  1. Retain my Hotlink as main phone line. (RM30-RM50 a month)
    1. For broadband, sign up to Celcom First Gold with AnyGBâ„¢ to merge the weekend data to any-day data -> 20GB. (RM80 + RM10 + Hotlink = RM120 to RM140 a month).
    2. For broadband, sign up Digi Postpaid 80 -> 10GB + weekend 4G 10GB. (RM80 + Hotlink = RM110 to RM130 a month).
  2. Sign up to Digi Postpaid 110 as both my main line and broadband on 2nd SIM -> 25GB + 100GB weekend data (RM110+RM10+RM10 = RM130 a month)

Advantages of Option 1a: Straightforward data bucket 20GB. No dealing all that weekend nonsense. I get to keep my flexible prepaid main line.
Disadvantages of Option 1a: Celcom's network has decent signal in my area but tends to choke at peak periods. Also the question mark of settling Celcom bills when I finally leave.

Advantages of Option 1b: Digi network more stable, despite weaker signal than Celcom. With Digi I get to roam in SG with 5GB at only RM30 (RM5 this year). I get to keep my flexible prepaid main line.
Disadvantages of Option 1b: I already have 8-10GB free weekend data from my Hotlink; having another 10GB weekend data would largely be wasted, unless I wait until every weekend to update my Windows 10, iOS and Android apps, drivers and OS updates (right now I'm doing that at 2am).

Advantages of Option 2: Digi network more stable, despite weaker signal than Celcom. With Digi I get to roam in SG with 5GB at only RM30 (free this year). 25GB a month to play with, and that's not counting the 100GB weekend data.
Disadvantages of Option 2: Bill shock of having to pay RM130 every month -- probably I will only use a fraction of that 25GB + 100GB data (although the greedy part of me is trying hard to persuade me to go for this).

Right now my inclination is as follows: Option 1a 45%, Option 1b 25%, Option 1c 35%. I have to make a decision before 15/12 because that's the deadline Digi set in order to enjoy the BorderRoaming discount.

Imagine those Grab and Uber drivers who are SingTel subscribers. Completely no business during the outage.

And those Maxis subscribers in SG have to switch to Starhub/M1, their internet usage becoming PAYU.

found out my digi 4G keep ping ponging 2600Mhz and 1800Mhz till drop to 3G.
Guys... when this happen, use gnettrack to see the cell ID.
If keep changing btwn 1xx and 2xx,
1) restart your device, i din try this sad.gif
2) force 4G signal to 1800Mhz or 2600Mhz (only with samsung phone)
3) force it to 3G only

else u wont even get an watsapps msg...

Strange is when I tested Digi Prepaid last month, I remember both Bands 3 and 7 had same tower ID (I can't remember the number).

But i duno whether digi has enabled 1xx from tower A can CA with 2xx from tower B or no...

then how u know the connected is 1800mhz or 2600mhz if the cell id is same?  blink.gif using samsung?
and is it CA when u check it?  blink.gif

I used *#BAND# on my Galaxy S4 to force LTE band. And an app called Network Info II to see the cell info. This was the only time I saw the Cell ID not change from one band to another.

As for CA, I don't think my S4 knows anything about that.

Haha 60+70 rm180 still more exp than rm110 25+100 hor...
*
This is how I would calculate cost per gigabyte:

Broadband 185:
185 ÷ (60 + (2/7 × 70)) = RM2.3125 per gigabyte*

Postpaid 110:
110 ÷ (25 + (2/7 × 100)) = RM2.0533 per gigabyte*

* To take GST into consideration, multiply by 1.06

If I sign up, I hope the Digi network doesn't go to pot in the weekends owing to too many people downloading/streaming.

I have personally seen what happens to the Celcom network during the unlimited Burung Hantu promotion period.

78V upgrade to 80 lor.

10 + 10.
You do loose music freedom.

Changed both my lines from 78 +2 to the new 80. But i get really horrible 4G. Fast everywhere by my house. Complain also no use despite in the middle of a big 4G coverage area.
*
Are you saying the 4G network quality went down after you upgraded?

Does that mean that for all the prepaid plans mentioned, VoIP is blocked unless you buy the pass?

- If you dont need big allocated data, u can purchase RM4/1.5GB on my DiGi Apps..
- All VoIP calls blocked on 'Free internet' which include :
1 - Free Basic Internet (64kbps)

Definitely will not take 1 week. At worst a few hours, but usually within minutes of your walking out of the Digi Store.

plus that free border roaming in 5 asian countries is gooding offer. 5GB data is more than enough, no hassle to change local simcard there anymore.

The FAQ says you must sign up before 15 Dec, otherwise no discount and you'll need to pay RM30 a month for that border roaming..

New plan has no free Music Freedom. Depends how important that is to you.
