DiGi's VoLTE APN = ims
data APN = diginet?
if network receive diginet... it will allocated the phone an internal ip which is x.x.x.x and network will always route this to internet
if network receive ims ..... it will allocated the phone an internal ip which is y.y.y.y and network will always route this to IMS network

some users here complain that cannot enter VoLTE, normally is the phone din trigger the IMS APN.  biggrin.gif
*
Is it possible to manually add ims to enable VoLTE, cause my phone has the hardware and my account is VoLTE enabled.

i got a note 5.... put yes 4g sim into it, straight VoLTE thr.... and see the APN... auto added IMS APN

put in VoLTE profile digi sim into it, pure 4G only, fine. i add the ims APN to it and save it. appear on the list but nth happen. fine.

I know that digi volte using ipv6 only. Hence i set APN type to "ims", and ipv4/v6 enabled.
the IMS APN straight disappear in the list. I fed up and turn off the note 5  mad.gif

The same happened to my S7 sad.gif

Dammit!  I was waiting for my Celcom broadband contract to end before taking up Digi Broadband 85 (15GB + 15GB 2-8am).  Now all my plans spoiled.  Why are Digi & Maxis forcing all this "free" streaming on people with no desire to watch this much video?

Likely my next broadband plan is going to be a normal postpaid phone plan.
*
But isn't the new packages better even without taking account into the free streaming quota.

I noticed on the Digi Broadband page, there are two tabs:
    Stream FREE
    Stream ON Demand

but the three plans mentioned in either tab is exactly the same.  So WTH does Digi mean by Stream Free and Stream On Demand?
*
QUOTE(MakNok @ Nov 15 2016, 08:08 PM)
This is extracted from the post,

The free video streaming is limited to just YouTube and Dailymotion. So watching videos from Netflix, iflix, Astro on the go and HyppTV will consume your stream on demand data bucket. Overall, it is quite confusing as Digi has a separate “Stream FREE” and “Stream on Demand” quota. Digi promises that you’ll never use up your internet quota on “Stream FREE” but it never mentions that it is unlimited.

At the Digi Broadband Page, just under the 3 plans, we have
But further down in the Frequently Asked Questions, we have:
So which is it, Digi?  RM5 or RM10 discount a month for existing Digi Postpaid customers signing up a new broadband plan?

Because Digi only achieved Cat 4 with CA and traditionally Cat 4 speed doesn't requires CA to achieve it so that's the reason some phones doesn't recognize it as 4G+.
*
So Digi's LTE-A is slower than what Celcom and Maxis offers?

I try to explain with picture... Hope bro zher can verify my picture  biggrin.gif
But if I understand correctly, only combined frequency more than 20mhz only will show 4G+ on some phone.  blink.gif

btw, with the new spectrum allocation, would Digi be able to have more bandwidth for faster LTE-A?

rumor is they testing with 3Mhz of 900mhz spectrum....
Only 10mhz of 1800mhz been used now. i guess government forcing them to serve 2G network still  cry.gif

UM definitely no 2G. so they might use all (15mhz) of 1800mhz to have LTE  blink.gif
900mhz only got 5mhz bandwith, i check for the site survery they have use it for 3G ad

3Mhz of 900Mhz spectrum, is the going to really help if at all?

very useful for penetrate into building ah bro...

u can see this..
http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_ca_band.php

1mhz also is a standard for 3GPP  blink.gif

I know, but what about the bandwidth. Accord to a video, airplane can use ATG systems to get internet connectivity but it is painfully slow at around 5mbps, this is because there is only 3Mhz slice of the spectrum. Now I know, LTE is probably gonna be more efficient in using spectrums but still, how fast could it possibly be? 10-20 is my best bet.

Found more info for the speeds of 900Mhz with 3mhz bandwidth.

https://www.vodafone.cz/en/about-vodafone/p...-czech-republi/

It says that 900Mhz can deliver speeds up to 20mbps only, with 15mbps being the average, so my bet isn't much off, but seriously, 20mbps is so little......

normally shopping mall are shared booster one. due to building management required.
How ugly is the mall if TM, maxis, celcom, digi, UM, P1, etc build their own booster inside.

But u can see our beloved times square.
UM deploy itself due to monopoly, and not let other using its 5 indoor boosters.
In the end DiGi build its own at certain levels ( new one )
and old booster still available at certain levels ( should be before 2007 one whr vincent tan own it )

Also, u can see at suria klcc.
Maxis got its own, share with others.
But recently it deploy 225mbps booster. seems self owned.

One U is digi owned. share with others except U Mobile.
U can see two type of booster when u see the ceiling at old wing

Mid Valley is digi owned. shared with all telco.
Garden is Maxis owned. shared with all telco

Sunway abit tricky also.
Some not naming (typical malaysia style)
Old wing got multi telco own booster
New wing by Celcom shared with all
Phase 3 naming is weird but DiGi ad renting the booster.

Pavilion, aeon shah alam and one city mall are owned by UM shared to all.

ETC ETC  biggrin.gif  sweat.gif

A shopping mall in AS only recently have Digi indoor booster. Took them one year even when there is a express store in it and a Digi centre 5 minutes walking distance away. Maxis had one much earlier. It seems that all telco here seems to be deploying their own and are not sharing.

Changed from Maxis to Digi and it was a complete let-down. I am not certain Digi is having network issues or not. I could not have a data consistency for more than a minute. It been days now and i am in Alor Setar area. On iPhone 7+ apps keeps complaining no internet, it's on/off all the time, including the apps. Chat is impossible with Digi garbage.  I have never experienced phone data behaves this way since stone age.

The weird thing is when it's off, i toggle data on/off on my iphone or reboot, the data will come back on immediately then the problem is back again!

I tested most the places, only one area with small window, one stair up my brother house corned room is usable. The data is always UP!! and can up for hours, day without problem. Which kinda explain It's not the phone's issue. The data is able to stay on phone when the signal is good?

Maxis may be expensive, but they are the best hand down. I may have to try Celcom next and ditch this stone age Digi network. It's a complete disaster.

Question, on digi post paid plan, can you port out immediately, will they put a penalty fine for post paid new account? or there's a time window one has to wait?

Hopefully the network inconsistency is only a temporary issue, no problem where I live. In fact, the 4G speed here went up, managed to get almost 50mbps with 30 mbps being the average rclxms.gif

Enjoys it!

At my bro place, i am getting about average 20+, and up to 60+. It's just few street aways from me, but the window is small to get that speed. Down stair, it's like my home, unusable. Too bad, i really do like their plan where i can add BB in the mix.

I just so happen to live in a place where Digi works best for me, downstairs at the kitchen Maxis either one bar or if unlucky no service sweat.gif Maxis said they remove a tower due to cost reasons, Celcom is mediocre but Digi is excellent, interested to see how 900Mhz will help with things....
