Interesting article:

"Europe may lose 3G before 2G"

Good point. Many phones have 4G and 2G on dual sim rather that 4G and 3G.

UM not using 900MHz for 4G LTE?? They could had been the pioneer in Malaysia to run tri-band LTE like Singtel Band 3/7/8  blink.gif

Only premium phones such as iPhones have Band 8(900MHz). Better go for 3G to improve coverage

Bruhh reuse lor. Or reconfigure any towers that use 2G to make rooms for 3G and 4G

I think our local telcos have stopped promoting 3G now, and encouraging users to migrate to 4G by offering all the weekend extra/unlimited 4G.

It could be that the 3G network will be decommissioned first before 2G.

2G has a wide reach to rural areas, and it's not easy to just shut it down as it will affect communication in rural areas.

It makes more economic sense to stop investing in 3G, and divert all the resources to 4G, while doing some minimal maintenance on 2G network.

Good point. Except for U Mobile since they just gained extra spectrum for 4G and 3G. U Mobile still promotes their 3G hoho

Best if it suits you smile.gif
BTW, have you tested on prepaid sim before using postpaid? It's a good step to test your area's coverage and stability.

Low end maybe not but now even middle end phone like Redmi Note 3/4 comes with band 8 LTE support. Since U Mobile had 10MHz on band 8, they really should use 5MHz on 3G and another 5MHz on LTE in my opinion.

Let's wait and see how U Mobile implement the extra spectrum.
Nonetheless, we hope the best smile.gif

Yeah you're right 2x5 MHz biggrin.gif . I keep remembering it's 2x10MHz for no reason.

There is reason for this as

Maxis and celcom = 10mhz x 2
Umobile and DiGi = 5mhz x 2

smile.gif

1800mhz
Maxis celcom digi 20mhz x 2
U mobile 15 mhz x 2

Hi. Anyone with Digi new broadband plan facing issue on Add-on subscription? I use Mydigi to click the add-on caused the apps crashed immediately. Tried on Digi website, the add-on page shows nothing.

Thinking to try to add on the VOIP again to try but can't do it since yesterday.

My Digi Prepaid doesn't even show my internet package/usage/quota balance in the MyDigi Mobile App. It stays at 0MB doh.gif
I can see my usage from MyDigi web though.
