Good timing for MBB to remove May/Aug 10% as the football season is not kicking off in Aug this year. Valid excuse for them. Haha.

I guess MBB is going to terminate their sponsorship / partnership with Barcelona soon. Shopee card suddenly leapfrog above Barcelona.
*
Then need to rename this card if partnership is terminated. laugh.gif

I can see the advantage of spending this card in oversea +5x treat points, other than that what else u using for?
*
Petrol and groceries? That's the main selling point for this card.

The onyl reason I gotta keep the card is for car servicing  / other big purchases. Can get 1% cashback than other banks' 0.2%
*
Err.. Not really.

eh my bad, I meant to type July bangwall.gif  sweat.gif

I can confirm 2020 August July spending is still 2% as my cashback is RM 12.40, and sum of transaction date within August July is ~RM 620
*
July is nothing extraordinary, final month for 2%

Not sure if this was posted before but what's the new minimum spending per transaction to quality for that 1% CB?

Back then it was RM50 transaction as the minimum sum when it was 2% if I recall correctly
*
All this while no minimum spending... But minimum cash back is RM 1.

It still gives 5% cb on weekends + 5X points. So on weekends, it pawns FCB  biggrin.gif
*
Weekends no points though. But yeah for weekends' sake, I will keep AmEx. laugh.gif

Hi Sis, did you cancel it or Maybank waive your AF? Did you spend more than 30k a year?
*
I didn't spend enough and already cancelled long time ago. Maybank will never waive AF.

I see. What do you use as an alternative to it for ALL DAY petrol and groceries?
My car is quite big CC and I drive like 80km everyday so it is impossible for me to tahan 1 week+ to fill up on weekends.
*
These are my two least used categories, so I can live with Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard, cash back on Fridays and Saturdays.
You can always apply and use first, first year is free AF.

I wonder how did they calculate this cash back, not even 1%. sweat.gif
I didn't spend anything last month, so I don't have any cash back but looking at you all... I'm stunned now.

looking at my 2 sample size + the forum.

someone can't differentiate 1% is 0.01 and it became 0.01%. maths failed.
*
Haha. Supposedly it is 0.01 and add another %, become 0.0001. laugh.gif

No sms or email to inform the rate change right?
Thinking to log a complain as I think the way they change the rate is not proper.
I received very clear notice in all the channels previously when standard charted bank revised their cash back rate.
*
Announcement appeared in July statement.

I accidentally spent RM 51 in Sept and I thought I won't get any cash back as it is < RM 1.00. Just checked my transaction randomly and I still got RM 0.51 cash back. laugh.gif

you're aware that the $1 refers to the amount you spend instead of the amount of cashback no?
*
I thought cash back? Hmm. Regardless, not important for me as the amount is not significant.

QUOTE(leootan @ Oct 14 2020, 02:10 PM)
Actually, RM 25 service tax annually, not that bad right? I am not saying you cancelled because of the service tax la. I don’t think that with the 1% cb, we cant really get back that RM 25 back, in 365 days.

CC not really just good in cb amount/percentage, but also how useful it is. With higher CL on a single CC, we can treat the 1%cb as a bonus, as we can make big purchase seamlessly.

Of course everybody disappointment with the merely 1% cb. But, RM 25 annually to retain a good CC (for me MBB CCs are good), is really not that bad.

A swipe of an OKAY smart phone/annual insurance if you pay it annually/few times of good meals with family in a year/total spent on petrol in a year, easily get back the RM 25.

Of course still better cards out there i suppose. Specifically for dining, specifically for petrol, specifically for online.

RM 25 yearly for a nice CC? It is a deal.
*
There are nicer cards out there. laugh.gif It's really difficult to justify. I already paid my SST in April, will keep and consider until next round's of SST.

Most of the posts talking about Barcelona card. Does anyone talk about the Signature? Can I ask if anyone has successfully get the AF waived for not meeting the yearly a pending requirement? I would like to know. Is the card worth it?
*
Worth for groceries and petrol only.
