So we need to wait for next ios update to add our credit card and use AP...
*
As mentioned before this, AP is a service not a function, it can be enabled from their side with just a simple wallet app update. Highly doubt there’s gonna be a whole new OTA to just enable one single function

Nah we won't be getting Apple Cash anytime soon. It's only available in the U.S. for now, and I doubt they'll skip Canada, UK, etc and launch in Malaysia haha.
*
Seconding this, idk why people were expecting ACard and ACash to be available in MY when it hasn’t even gotten to CA, which is basically just US #2 when it comes to the services provided to them and shared with the US. AP is probably the best we’ll get from Apple themselves. Even in the years to come I don’t expect ACash and ACard to be available in MY, even if it was released elsewhere other than the US.

its also possible to be rolled out together with the next iOS update, since the next update is also rumored to be on Tue/Wed [source: Brandon Butch YT]

I'm currently on iOS 16.0 PB2, and my siblings phones is on 15.5 and they still don't have the add card in Wallet card. Either they added function in wallet for AW in 16.0 PB1 or they haven't pushed the microcode update for JSON on older devices.

Settings > Wallet (currently set to Malaysian region btw)

Not sure if this Apple Pay mention was there before this. Clicking on it, it tells me to add cards/keys/etc using “add to wallet”
*
Yes it has been there before this, since 2021 afaik it has showed add card.

has anyone tried to add their cards to Apple Pay yet?
*
I personally have been trying all day clicking on the plus to see if it has updated. Even switching region to SG but no avail, so yeah it's probably only gonna work after 1AM and/or official launch date after announcement tomorrow tongue.gif

Why bother with Apple Pay?

Getting better cashback from various other sources.
*
Might be a hot take but I'd give away a few cents or even a few ringgits away for the convenience of not caring about cashbacks, wallet points, rewards etc. Unless I'm doing a big/expensive purchase, I'd take the convenience of just swiping my card for the same convenience as using a physical card with the better offered security by SP/AP.

I still use e wallets(at where places that either takes cash or ewallets only), but compared with launching my whatever ewallet, pulling out the QR code to using it with the watch and ecosystem I have is more convenient and easy in general.

Nah, wrong. Same technology, but implementation is something else.

Many retailers don't have a clue what is Apple Pay, let alone cash-back.
*
Then us as the adopters should use it more and bring light to people that doesn't know. AP is literally your physical card but with Apple's provided security protecting it. So it's in one or more way better than physical card payments right?

BxM still cockblocking something but nevermind, we got the main thing out and that's good already.
*
If we're being honest here, who the heck has more than 5 cards from one single bank itself LOL. 10 is probably more than enough quota for the general public.

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Aug 8 2022, 09:48 PM)
Ewallets nowadays are pretty much superapp. It is not only for payment so you probably have at least touch n go or grab app in your phone anyway. 🤷🏽‍♀️
*
It is indeed the superapp, but I find using them sometimes is troublesome at best. Especially with bad signal reception, I have a few instance that I had to try to get signal to my phone to just top up the ewallet to make a payment. But with SP(Which is my main payment app atm despite being an Apple user), I've been using it without internet connection on that phone, and it works without internet, granted you won't get real time transaction updates from SP wallet, but if you're using Maybank and MAE, you'll receive a notification nevertheless.

My friend, wrong.

Apple security is not relevant. All other payment methods provide security. And have been using it for many years.

Apple Pay is just a fancy concept with NO advantages, except for ignorant fanboys.
*
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-38...ing-street.html So you're saying something like this is the same as AP? Where it requires your biometrics/PIN input to even allow the card to be read?

So am I, Boost.

And one or two other E-wallet, depending.

No need to buy overpriced Apple nonsense.
*
Then how about SPay? Looking back at your posts I don't see you being too big of an anti of what is basically the same tech back then? All your comments just sound "Apple Bad no matter what to me" honestly. That's the typical fanboy attitude I'm smelling here. confused.gif

You mean you guys can’t see the Wallet & Apple Pay option is it? I am using Singapore region Apple ID so I have it already. But my SCB card is Malaysia issued.
*
Yep, we can still only see the click add to apple wallet button notification nonsense.
