HLB CC MC & CC Visa & Debit MC
Public Bank Debit UnionPay & CC Visa
Maybank Debit Visa
HSBC Debit Visa

All cannot. I am going to wait for tomorrow.
*
UnionPay impossible (unless u're talking about Huawei Pay...)

And wow, been seeing all of you guys adding MC cc & dc for SC and MB since 10pm. All I could say for now is, my wind simply too accurate 😂 When I mentioned they will release ANYTIME soon then they really did at the night... (though not officially yet haha)

Meanwhile keeping my eye on MAE then PB Lifestyle (if MAE can add ady) for the time being.

Guys, making any kind of casual guesses is kinda useless actually... just remember this simple logic. The toggle switch is totally on theirs. They can do whatever, whenever they want.

Not to be offensive but just hoping any of our "insider" words don't end up in disappointment in the event of deviations.

Ogehhh time to sleep lahhh haha. But for me it's quite understandable why it won't happen as early as 1am though. Think about this, someone suddenly ruined the entire plan & the rest are forced to make it EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED, and then you suddenly tell V and MC to "ohhh faster help me activate ahh", you think easy as it says mehh haha. I mean im quite sure it's about time constraint lah, but anyway rest assured we'll be able to hear about everything tomorrow.

And by tomorrow too, our country will be officially added to the Apple's website list. Gambateh kudasai to those who're working BTS 💪💪💪

By default, MAE account *is* a bank account, albeit with RM20k balance limit at any given time
*
Don’t care liao. In the midst of opening tiger account rn. Cuz anyway I already had the intention to ditch away the pee bee whose IT so suck. Their app until now still langsung kennot run on ios16, and you know what… I know they sure lc pretend dont care bout AP at all one. So, here I am. Roman got me simply because of their so nice MAE app 👍

Bombard their socmed. Every single socmed and probably CS as well. They would probably budge.
*
Convince them that by issuing virtual TNG card, they don’t need to manufacture the physical card yet can still charge customer with the same price.

My yesterday McD’s transaction only have “approved” as details now
*

PBB high chance will not jump onboard, low number of card users and also probably don't want to revenue split the MDR with Apple
*
Agree. The fact that it doesn’t even have any social media page (Twitter, FB) already enough to tell how outdated their business operation is. And remember, swiping back to long long ago comment in this thread someone who was PB shareholder did ask about AP in the AGM and got the most *don’t care* kind of answer.

Even if someone managed to reach them out and ask them about the same question again, I bet this time skali they’d straight away say “… sorry, we do not have any intention to participate in Apple Pay programme at anytime soon”.

they did participated samsung pay programme...who knows, they will participate apple pay programme in one day!
*
Welp, “… in anytime soon” means that they MIGHT participate in one day, but not so fast. Slow slow rollout to us lah in other words. And if I’m not mistaken for SP they only launched it *A YEAR AFTER* the SP is released in MY.

TNG cant even done right on rfid, ewallet, digitise physical card reloads ..not even one.

Still expect them to do it perfectly right on apple wallet??
*
That’s simply because they die die insist on their own solution (despite knowing it wouldn’t work well) for the sake of promoting their own brand.

When will our public transport system support Apple pay’s transit card?

All our gov need to do is to add support for debit/credit card in their turnstile gate, like sg.
*
I think straight away Support TNG card would be more straightforward. Correct me if I’m wrong tho, as what I actually believe behind those “transit card” are nothing more than about emulating their NFC signal. Speaking of that, we already have NFC tng card right? So if those nfc-enabled tng card could work on all nfc terminal, then my assumption is that, the virtualised tng thru Apple Pay should work the same - incl. triggering of PayDirect if the same card is added to eWallet app. However as I said, it’s just my (rather naive) assumption and so I could be wrong. I welcome anyone who *REALLY* knows how tng works to correct me.

If you were to say upgrade the turnstiles so that they can support OLP payment, I think it’s like thrice amount of work to do cuz, 1st those rail operators (and doubt if KTM would even want to do that) have to acquire bunch of new terminal add-ons, then have to set up proper payment network & connectivity, then rigorous testings, and then… you already know how much more work is involve in this case compared to the former.

Reminded me of the time where I tried to pay with SPay, pulled out my phone and they insisted on physical card only. (Terminal is OCBC based GHL white variant). Already insisted to try but they're still not budging, had to cave in at the end and just used cash. Idk why some merchants are just so stubborn headed about this matter  doh.gif
*
Must be boss instructed those cashiers to do so. If we somehow insisted to successfully tapped our phone and let the transaction go, then kesian the cashier they'd for sure kena tiau by their boss 😅...

I mean i understand this situation can happen especially in more rural areas (luckily in Kepong I've yet to see it), but for such stupidity matter to happen it must be caused by one ***hole behind. I believe most of the time it's not the cashier's intention.

Even tho the facility supports it but the current underlying OS it runs only recognises TnG card, ie still a close instead of open loop payment system.

Ohhh dang, that means our terminal IS ALREADY CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING NFC 🙀🙀🙀
But yea, that doesn't despite mean we can expect our public transit to go open loop anytime soon...

Just as I predicted, some retailers started to block Apple Pay. The reason is pretty  much predictable.

My tests on the same PBB terminal:-

Apple Pay + Maybank MAE: I pay RM10.00, merchant account recorded RM9.82
Same Maybank MAE card with Paywave: Pay RM10. Get RM9.94
Alliance Bank Visa CC + Paywave: Pay RM10. Get RM9.86.
*
What about physical card with PIN? Would you like to test that for us too?
