Padini in Pavillion just said no virtual card in iPhone or watch, only physical card. where do we track of black listed merchants other than eating 1 star in google map?
Get another Google Sheet and let those volunteers put in, I guess? (eg: Shops/retailers/merchants that (*purposely*) DO NOT accept Apple Pay)
Having just a “virtual card” macam kennot add into Apple Pay leh, cuz at the day of launch I just couldn’t get my phone num verified no matter how many times i retried.
If you are new to Maybank, you can get the virtual card, but if you are existing Maybank customer, you have no way to get that~
Source: MAE FAQ
You can still apply for the MAE card after you have registered a MAE account, on top of the principal saving one. If you happen to have used MAE (as ewallet only) before opened a saving account from Maybank, you can request for linkage with ur debit/ATM card at the branch where you opened the account.
And anyway, I guess you HAVE TO apply for the physical MAE card in that case, if you would like to clearly separate between saving & spending accounts, because AFAIK without doing so you wouldn’t even have access to your MAE card (be it virtual or not) number in order to perform contactless/online purchase, but yeah FPX is not affected at this point, just that you wouldn’t have a card where you can deduct your MAE’s balance from, as the ATM card can only be linked to your default saving account.
Did you successfully add the virtual card to Apple Pay then? Keep getting mixed messages about this. Like that Xavier Naxa guy on Twitter, who insists that the physical card is a must
True. You must have physical card before you can add into Apple Pay. If you try to add a virtual card you won’t be able to receive the sms verification although the option is available there. I’m very sure that’s true as I experienced that myself.
Been a long time silent follower since page 30+ or something, stopped checking when AP finally launched so I'm not sure if anyone have asked Citi about it haha. Thought I'd share
AFAIK only “major” banks will participate. Overseas one which have small customer base like UOB, OCBC, Citi etc. not going to participate *at anytime*.
Foodpanda and grab, any news if they’ll be supporting Apple Pay?
Grab almost impossible since it contradicts with their grab pay. Foodpanda however got hope as it’s already available in SG, plus it doesn’t have its own payment method so no contradiction exists.
The KTM’s terminal itself however, didn’t have any reaction from Apple Pay. HOWEVER, Apple Pay is automatically triggered as I brought my phone near the reader (looks almost like Express Mode being triggered).
Therefore this brings us a conclusion: Most of our public transport’s AFC gates already natively support NFC, thus the essentials of implementing OLP system are already in place. It’s now up to the rail operators’ discretion on whether or not to carry on the project.

Would it even work with apple pay whenever that thing comes online?
Its MyDebit and Apple Pay only supports Visa Or Mastercard
I think it doesn’t really matter cuz if Apple Pay is really specific like what you said, then I’d like to provide 2 arguments:
1. Why would Maybank continue to put MyDebit logo on the virtual card if Apple Pay really doesn’t support MyDebit at all? 2. Petron counter’s POS only accepts MyDebit AFAIK. And so how @yenchenje managed to tap his card on a “solely” MyDebit terminal?
Most importantly is that, I think, MyDebit is just a subnetwork which exists under Visa/Mastercard (correct me if I’m wrong), right? I mean the logic is, if the superset works then the subset should as well.

I have a question about pumping petrol at self-service pump using Apple Pay guys... Other than Petronas (which I tried & witnessed myself), any other petrols that doesn't charge RM200 floating as long as you got set the preset amount? I tried Shell yesterday and it seemed to ignore that preset amount and still wants to deduct RM200 from my account.
BTW I know Petron no longer impose mandatory RM200 floating but sadly their self-service pumps lack of paywave terminal.

I think as long you did not preset the amount, they will still charge you 200... So far I know Shell(some station) and petron can preset amount and they will charge maximum to that amount only.
This is the effect of "exact deduction" seen from my bank statement. Appreciate if you/anyone can confirm if using the Shell's preset white panel would give the same result?
P/S The same result can also be seen from our MAE transactions page I think.

Damn lucky. AFAIK the number of institutions having the initiative for NFC passes is so few even around the world, let alone talking about support for digital pass
AP integrated into ur iphone, desktop how to detect?
You can provided if you are on a Mac. Best possible if on MacBook with Touch ID.
Edit: Oh and yes, of course you have to own an iPhone/Apple Watch at the same time in order to get Apple Pay activated. AP on Mac mostly just act as the auxiliary one in simpler terms.
