Anthony Loke said they’re aiming the implementation by 2H23.

There are quite some Chinese media reported that news last week, and if someone can find back the video of interviewing Loke, you can listen that he said that they’re aiming to achieve it by 2H23. Sadly though, I see no non-Chinese media reported this news in the past few days.

Coming soon?

And the device shown there doesn’t look like an iPhone either. Perhaps just coming to Google Pay, but I do feel that the device resembles Samsung much more. In that case it’d mean Alliance coming to Samsung Pay.

Maybe is new card?

Not really in my opinion. The message and picture very clearly points the hint to a new payment method.

do you know the exact date when? hand itchy to try

I dunno, just passed by the Bank Negara station only and saw this banner.

But one interesting thing to mention is that, since last 2 weeks I’ve noticed my nearby station Kepong has several new fare gates installed. From the appearances they’re the one used for ETS ticket.

Apple Pay at tolls for the next couple of years while waiting for MLFF?

Wow, can confirm that POS machine is exactly the same as the one installed at KTM stations (didn't take photos to keep low profile)

EDIT: Based on the photo provided, can also pretty much confirm this is the model.
And according to the data sheet, this machine is certified for EMV L1, L2 & EMV Contactless L1.
Therefore quite likely supporting Apple Pay shouldn't be of any technical issue at all.
What's more interesting is that this machine even gives chip-in and swipe options in case your card just couldn't wave.

Maybe around September/October I guess. I would say the progress on KTMs are doing well so far, was able to see technicians working on the new gate machines from time to time, and also more than half of them are already assembled & being turned on for now. So probably they’re just left with the software optimisation works for now. And not to mention the POS terminal I spotted are also exactly the same as the one at NPE tolls, so this probably indicates that procurement are synced between LLM and MOT.

As for RapidKL I don’t have any clue but based on previous interviews from their management, it seems that they do not need any hardware upgrade as their existing terminals are capable of natively support open payment system.

At least I’m happy to see they all are doing the work so good so far.

Are you an insider or have knowledge of T@G implementing this? I believe he was asking for our monopoly giant T@G to support Apple Pay.
*
I don’t think they’d even do that since the same thing could have been achieved by implementing open payment system. And I’m by no means any sort of “insider”, I’m just telling whatever I witnessed so far.

EDIT: Why so? Cuz it’s simply not worth to pour in the time and effort to develop (and yet have to let Apple have some take I guess) the virtualised TnG card which again only limited to just iOS users. Ngl you can still expect a slim possibility of seeing TnG visa adding support for AP, but definitely not the old TnG (welp just my guessing, again).

Is OCBC bank supporting Apple Pay soon?

Just updated their Malaysian bank app, and noticed that the app supports Apple Wallet features
*
It does have Wallet logo on App Store all the time isn’t? But that doesn’t always equate to supporting Apple Pay.

I can only say it’s all about ROI, not really whether who’s more capable of integrating new technology.

Especially when banking industry are monopoly by cainis apek, you know that’s surely going to NOT happen.

Is there any limit for apple pay wave? I tried 1k+ but declined. Need to setting on card or apple pay?
*
The limit depends on ur bank account settings. In this case you might need to check if ur current contactless limit is set below 1k or not.

Taobao going to support Apple Pay

Update: It failed. So probably its still undergoing dev & testing stages, but nevertheless this surely indicates AP is already in their plan.
