What about the ECG function for Apple watch?

Apple Pay I understand. It involves Banks and other Financial entities but the ECG function should be purely based on Apple's effort to get the required certifications right?
*
Already approved by local authority. Now waiting for Apple to just activate it for MY region.

ECG is approved by MDA

Like finally. It's approved by MDA and bet to be soon released in the next Watch OS!

Looks like those doing ECG activation service on e-commerce platforms are going to cease to exists.
Oops.

Don’t put up high hopes. Maybank’s reply sounds very diplomatic. Plus, AP charges the bank for every transaction if not mistaken. So bank need to find a way to generate back the charge which I highly doubt that MYB is so nice to absorb the fee. Raise the rental price of POS terminal? Raise the bank charges for each transaction to retails? Time will tell.

Exactly what I thought. Feasibility study? Pftttt..... typical answer to shut people up.
*
It's better if someone here knows the "feasibility study" team or dev team inside MYB and spill some knowledge to us. I don't trust corporate replies when they go full diplomatic. Ask yes or no, hope to get a yes or no, get maybe. bruce.gif bruce.gif bruce.gif

Sorry I have to say this
But no petition will bring Apple Pay to Malaysia even thought there is 32,000,000 signs on it.

Just stop putting any hope for it, and continue to use ewallet/physical card
*
squeeze dry eWallet promos
heavily use physical card

i don't see why we should even support eWallets. Nuisance in the first place.

you can pay using ewallet in road side stalls, it will never happen with apple pay, samsung pay etc.
*
eWallets. Either side must have internet connection to make the transaction. MOST eWallets as well need internet connection to make payment. Both sides must have internet connection so that buyer can pay and merchant can verify the transaction. In the long run, more and more ppl are gonna use this loophole to scam those merchants that do not check their account everytime a transaction is made. It’s already happening. There’s an incident where someone tried to buy something from a hardware store for only 0.01.

Since both sides should have internet, then a POS makes sense. There’s tons of portable ones connected to cellular line.

can ship directly to Malaysia? sweat.gif
*
I asked the customer service, he/she replied yes explicitly mentioning my address in Malaysia/International. But I’ve been waiting since almost 2 weeks and it’s still not here yet so I’m wondering if actually Pos MY is withholding it as there was a like notice back then saying international mails will be suspended. Sort of.

wait your good news biggrin.gif you apply through Wise app? how much need to pay for delivery or any other charges?
*
Tbh, I can't remember the steps how I apply it because I did it in 2 separate times. Let me list it down.

1) Open an account and directly set SG as your default country. You can use the app or the website. Doesn't matter.
This is where I stopped last time. So I COULD be wrong that I set up as SG last time. You can change it in your account anytime later anyways.

2) After opening the account, apply for the Wise card via Account tab. If you have verified yourself before, your account is locked to that country already. So go open another account.
*If you do not see any card in the Account tab, tap on your picture -> Edit your details -> Change to SG. Address just put Malaysian address. Only the country set to SG.*

3) It will ask you to verify yourself with gov documents. I just yolo and sent them picture of me and my IC. Yeap, you read that right, I opened an SG account and verified myself with my Malaysian IC.
4) After approval, you will need to pay 10 SGD for the card and delivery. I just pay lo. 10SGD is cheaper than getting the N26 all the way from EU via TipTrans. biggrin.gif
5) Once you pay for it, you can add the card into Apple Pay already. Don't need wait for physical card.

Do note that the payment of 10SGD could be BEFORE the verification. I can't remember as I was just rushing through it.

So yeah, I'm currently waiting for the card to arrive. Applied on the 16 June if you are wondering. App promised 18 June to arrive (probably the app think's it's an SG address) but I haven't get mine till date.

for transferwise? need ask PoisonSoul
i not yet apply
*
Open account like normal. Instant. Verify for me was within 1-2hrs. SG's efficiency legit.

QUOTE(vez @ Jun 28 2021, 10:19 PM)
your transferwise able to top up with Malaysia card?
*
That's the only thing I have not tried cos I have nothing to buy at the moment but apparently I type in MY CC, they say they take with more service fee.
The exchange goes like this: CC (MYR) -> TransferWise (SGD) -> TransferWise (MYR)
All you need to do is type how much MYR you want. the SGD will be calculated accordingly.

This is how it looks like @ your homescreen on Wise. You would probably only see SGD. To add MYR, tap on the + and add MYR wallet.

user posted image
Let's say you would like to reload SGD into Wise. Tap on SGD and tap on the "Add"

user posted image
You input how much you want to reload + which currency do you want to get/pay your SGD for. Of course if you have SGD, pay with SGD to get SGD la.

user posted image
Here's the list of currencies you can choose to buy your SGD.

user posted image
Basically, "how do you want to reload?".

user posted image
Now, I have chosen to reload MYR into Wise, tap on MYR and tap on the "Add", input how much you want to reload, it will show the fees involved + you are able to select which currency would you like to "buy" MYR from.
This is after I have done the above steps. These are the methods for us to "buy" MYR. There's a RM33+- charge for credit card reload. The charges are based on your reload amount. Not 1 standard price.

user posted image
So, if we proceed with CC and I type in my MYR CC details, this will show. I am not exactly sure how much they charge at the end but this is what it is.
