my subordinate, 1 got acca 1 got icaew. Both talk a lot. The one that perform is another staff who only has diploma/stpm (donno which one).

experience does matter.

Like I said, if you compare the two qualifications directly, ICAEW is more well recognised in the UK, next is CIMA and then ACCA.

Legal wise, they're all the same.

Obviously, it's more likely an employer would call an ICAEW graduate up for an interview, since there's fewer of them and it's reasonably tougher than ACCA. Whether you get hired, depends on your work attitude, performance in interview etc.

So, if you get an opportunity to do ICAEW, why not?

ICAEW's ACA designation is the crème-de-la-crème of Accounting qualifications. Try it if you can but it's tough and you need a firm to work with (at least it the requirement before, not sure if there are changes to this).

ACCA is for peasants like me.

Sincr u getting full schlorship go icaew. Acca is more common now while icaew not as muCH since its restricted.

Tbh in the end it only really matters to get u thRu the front doors. AfterwaRDS its all about how u play the game.

Lel, you still remember me giving you advice eh? biggrin.gif

To answer your question: depends.

To me ICAEW is more harder but more glamourous than ACCA. But i believe in general ppl know more about ACCA rather than ICAEW.

But i think the enrollment for ACCA is more than ICAEW, so you have more peers to refer to or have group studies and compare notes for discussion. Probably a bit more limited for ICAEW.

So boils down to you. If you can challenge yourself and be independent, go for ICAEW. Accounting firms and shared service centre would recognise more for that cert.

But if you wanna play safe and be recognised as well, ACCA is the way to go.

Both are highly respected in Malaysia.

Both overrated but we live in an credentialised society. Do icaew only becos got exemption n more entry restrictions unlike ACCA let every road dog cat unker enter.

Then spend d nxt 3 yrs slavin at big4 n exit as an 5k kuli.

Wtv the case all those models u will study only useful if u in consulting line.
