The Arctic Cooling Freezer7 Pro sit's exactly within the heatpipes of the mobo. Exactly as in really exactly. The fins are actually touching but by the slightest bit oni. N no i dont polish the pipes. laugh.gif I may haf heatpipe fever but not to the extent of polishing the pipes. Mebe the next time I remove everything for Thermal paste reapplication I may do it with sum Autosol. ph34r.gif The reason it's shining in the pix was coz it was all brand new from the box so still shining. It's already looking like dark brown now.

It's actually pretty easy. I'll show u guys a pic of the heatpipes removed once I sort out my pics. U can remove the whole thing n just lay it in a pan of Coke. Leave it there say overnight. Shud b nice n shiny the next morning.

Hmmm Artic Freezer .... really like it but just wonder how good is it .

Is it possible there's a review before product released ... I bet by now time would have the cooler finished development and ready for mass production.

So would out dearest uncle get hold on one to drool us before the official releases....

If u leave it in the coke long enuf it will get shinier. Well, I can only hope I get the Freezer Extreme soon coz the Freezer7 Pro is keeping my quad core cool at 3ghz but more than that the performance tapers off. It's not big enuf for high overclocks on a quad core. Just too much heat.

No. Coz the 2400 Pro doesnt run hot. All the low end cards dont run hot. In fact most of the low end cards oni haf a passive heatsink but I opted for 1 with a fan coz it's gonna be sandwiched between 2 heat monsters.

Here's sumthin I just did for King Kong. I did this for better air intake to the 8800GTX SLI. I wanted the 2x120mm intake fans right at the top of the case so it will blow directly at the gfx cards. The intake plate mod I've done this time is for temporary use only. I will be making a whole new plate with a different look soon.

Here's how the old intake plate looked like.

This is the old fan plate on the inside. The fans are at the bottom n blowing mainly at the lower gfx card n the CPU.

user posted image

This is what I did for the new plate. Masked n marked the old intake plate for cutting.

user posted image

This is what I get after cutting the old intake plate. A separate DVD stealthing plate instead of the 1 piece look previously.

user posted image

Stealth plate mounted on the DVD drive.

user posted image

Next thing was to make a new fan plate for the intake fans.

user posted image

All the parts ready for assembly.

Front intake n fan plates complete n ready for installation.

Intake fan plate installed. U can see that the fans r right at the top of the case. The DVD drive slot is at the bottom now. This will ensure lotsa air gets to the gfx cards at the top.

user posted image

On 1 of my trips to the local ACE hardware shop, I found this nice air cond filter. It's made from a special kinda foam which lets air tru without much restriction.

user posted image

I cut out a piece to fit behind the intake plate so only nice clean filtered air gets into the case.

user posted image

I also used the filter foam on all the other mesh intakes like the side panel in this pic.

user posted image

This is how King Kong looks like now with the new front intake plate. The DVD drive is now at the bottom n separated from the intake plate. Much easier to remove the intake plate for cleaning now as it isn't connected to the DVD drive at all. IMO, it doesn't look as nice as the old 1 piece plate. Oh well, it's a temporary solution till i design a whole new plate.

uncle, i guess, it would be much better if u spray a dvd stealth plate exactly same like the basic color, it seems like a bit whiter than the background color, or maybe it's just an impact of the lightning around? nice job indeed

It's from the same piece of brushed aluminum. The color is exactly the same. Just the reflection of the camera flash n ambient lighting makes it looks different.

I've used the exact same foam from Ace, great as it's only RM5 for a big piece.
But it does clog up pretty fast, which shows that it does it's job filtering dust, but also necessitates frequent cleaning. tongue.gif
