Thats what my colleague told me but I cannot really verify as I havent taken UBER before even though I have been here for a year. As for your hotel, where is it located? Sometimes its cheaper to take the Airport Express to Kowloon and then take the free shuttle bus to your hotel. You can get cheaper ticket in Klook as well.

There are four of us. So taking uber/ taxis would cost about the same as taking the Airport Express + Bus right? Plus we will also need to be tugging our luggage together.

Planning my itinerary now. Any experienced travelers can answer few questions of mine?

1. Assuming im reaching hk at around 1pm and storing my luggage at the condo first (Tung chug area), will i still be able to visit the ngong ping and nearby areas?

2. How much i should allocate per person for for 4 days. No fancy eating and a bit of souvenir shopping?

3. Which has reasonable priced dim sum and taste good , also easily accessible ?

1. 1am??? For a minute i thought it's a typo. If you wish to take the Ngong Ping cable car then it's not possible, it's only open till 6pm. Nearby areas - not sure if it's still open.

2. I brought around HKD$4,500 for 5-6 days' trip, it was good enough (maybe coz I did a little shopping). Shopped for baby clothes (at GAP) for a close friend, and quite a fair bit of souvenirs for family & friends. I find the Airport Express ain't cheap.

If you don't spend much, I should think for 4 days, HKD$2,500 is sufficient. Allocate the $500 for transport, airport transfer etc and limit spending to $500 per day. But I'll still suggest you bring a bit more in case you end up doing some shopping for yourself.

3. Stayed in Wanchai so I had Dim Dim Sum; not bad but I can't get used to it because HK dimsum is a little different (the style) and there was no chili sauce laugh.gif too used to the Malaysian way of eating.

It was a typo. Haha. Scheduled to reach at 12pm but i consider the delays too so 1pm. Hmm. Around 2pm go to ngong ping still cant make it? Is it like the langkawi cable car?
Yours was 2.5k hkd per person?
How's the price compared to malaysia ones?

Ohhhh so you're estimating 1pm? It's a cable car alright, but you see very beautiful view. The ngong ping cable car brings you to Lantau Island and back. There's quite a few things you can do at Lantau Island other than visiting the Buddha statue. I'll think that 1/2 a day or more will be good. At Tung Chung there's also an Outlet Mall that you can shop for clothes, shoes etc.

There are 2 types of cable car - you can take the normal ones or crystal cabin (which is pricier, of course). Google Ngong Ping cable car and check it out yourself. I'll recommend the crystal cabin if it fits your budget.

Also, no, like i said, I brought HKD4.5k and it's for 1 person, around 5-6 days. You wanted a minimal budget for 4 days, so I suggested HKD$2.5k for you.

u can try One Dim Sum 一點心..heard they said its worth the try..

for 4 days i would say best allocated at least RM600-700..but make sure this does not include all entrance fee yeah..entrance fee u can buy it from Klook..the amount was just for food and light shopping.

Didn't get to shop due to the short time I have, but I'll say the Outlet Mall is better than the other major malls in HK. Friend told me it's slightly cheaper - he had time to shop coz he left Lantau Island earlier while I chose to lurk around Lantau longer.

I suggest you Google and check what's there in Lantau island. I didn't manage to check out the Wisdom Path, but I heard it's nice. If you can spare a day there, then you can plan what to visit/ do there.

Food and coffee not bad. Be sure to know what you eat before asking the waiter for the order. The workers there are quite grumpy. Once i tried to take another menu in English the uncle scolded me. To be fair, every waiters in HK are black face. I mean not all lah but mostly. Just bear with their attitude. Me and my friend keep said thank you and sorry. HK ppl not so friendly.

Day 2
This itinerary is okay. Avenue of Stars still renovating when I went there back in Sept 2017. Not sure whether how is it now. Chungking Mansion mostly are Indian people there as i stayed there with my 2 other friends. (Quite regretted tho sweat.gif) Some of them know how to speak HK Cantonese. So be careful what you said. Near Chungking got one sport shoe shop. (Sell those Nike, Addidas etc) Quite nice the shoes.

Day 3
Don't go for Lan Kwai Fong. It was damn boring over there. The place only famous for its name. You can walk walk xia lah. If you want happening one, go for Soho. Its near Lan Kwai Fong.

Day 4
Seems your trip quite rush. But overall is fine lah. Budget wise $2500 is enough. One of my friend with my trip he brought $2500 too. We went there for 7 days. Can survive.

As a conclusion, HK is a good place for travel experience I would said. (Go for their ting ting, double decker buses and ferry) It as summer when i went there as we prefer for cheap budget. So it was damn hot. Won't go there again on between Aug-Oct. It was hotter than Malaysia. As i said mostly waiter and waitress are black face. So you have to be quick and every thing is speed over there.

P/S: Mind to tell me what is the weather over there when you back? January shoud be cold bah~

But HK in general... its okay but I feel way more crowded and narrow than Tokyo, which is known for its dense population. If I ever go back HK, probably few years later when its not in summer! But summer can get cheap(er) accommodation.

Hmmmm I think Lan Kwai Fong is a must-go if you're in HK for the first time. Its part of the experience tongue.gif after that one time, can always opt to not go back. And better check what time is the last train. Friend and I missed our train. Taxis refused to take us back coz we stay in Wanchai (which is not far enough for them to overcharge). Ended up walking back, which took us about 45min to less than an hour? It wasnt too bad except it was in SUMMER *screams in horror*. On the good side, at least it was night time.

Kowloon park>Avenue of Stars(closed, u have to walk a bit to the temporary site) > Chungking Mansion > Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade for the Symphony of light at 8pm > Star ferry can do at night if you want, reach HK island and come back to TST > Fa Yuan Street/Temple Street Night Market/Ladies market

if u wanna go The Peak at 4pm, make sure you get your ticket from Klook which they will give u express lane to enter, or else u gonna face an extremely long queue and squeeze with all the massive loads of tourists.

I think gonna skip chungking since nothing there and again any suggestion where to go for my day 2 day time aside Kowloon park and avenue. Gonna skip the symphony based on the reviews i read and spend more time at mongkok area for evening/night.
For the star ferry, i dont quite und. Just for the ferry, i go to hk island, then back to tst? hmm.gif
