You could ping forumer koonghx

He is in Seoul and you can bank in to his Maybank acct here and he will pass you Won. His rate supposed to be the best.

I met up with him for dinner while I was there. Nice fellow.

Some subways were jammed up a few days ago and last week.

Now generally people go back onto their daily lives already. Can protest like crazy, but at the end of the month there are still bills to pay and food to be put on table.

Welp, here's another bad news: South Korea has determined that H5N6 bird flu has been detected.

So to anyone going there in the near future, do expect to be quarantined if any symptoms arise. Stay safe guys!

usually the rally will be going on around city hall. so avoid the following stations: 2호선 시청 (line 2 City Hall) and 5호선 광화문 (line 5 gwanghwamun). if you want to go around that area like 청계천 (Cheonggyechon) or 명동 (myeongdong), you can try 2호선 을지로 입구 (line 2 euljiro 1-ga) or 1호선 종각/종로 3가 (line 1 jonggak or jongno 3-ga)

but the protest usually at night. because it's foolish to light candles during the day laugh.gif

if you're curious and want to experience it a bit, just stop at jongno 3-ga, eat some snacks and make your way to kyobo bookstore. the rally is just outside the store flex.gif have to warn you lots of school girls attend it as well

i was there during the protest, i was staying in Insadong, just above Anguk station
during my walk to Gyeongbokgung, there were a lot of police but the palace itself is very safe and
i can see the demo clearly from my AirBNB and it is really peaceful demo durign the evening

however, during dinner time, insadong is packed. i think it was towards the end of the demo
and we headed to HongDae after dinner and boy, the subway is packed like sardine. got shoved many times
and it is packed not just for a few stations but all the way to hongdae

its not change. you just get 1 year permit actually.
