finally pulled the trigger and went to South Korea again last week..
went straight to Gwangju from the airport and for the first time ever in Korea, I experienced a heavy traffic in the interstate..
took 7 hours from Incheon to Gwangju, which is longer than the flight itself.. sweat.gif

all in all, it's nice to finally be able to be back there..
went to Gwangju, Seoul, and Busan and had all the food I missed..
everything seems to have gone to normal, but Myeongdong still hasn't.. probably due to its heavy dependence on Chinese tourists..
markets like Gwangjang Market were full of people already, Insadong was also bustling..
Yeonnam-dong and Seongsu-dong seems to be the hip neighborhoods in Seoul now..
one new thing for me in Busan was the Huinyeoul Munhwa Maeul in Busan, which some people called "Busan's Santorini"..
to be honest, it's nowhere close haahaha.. but it's still a good place to check for its abundance of cafes and photospots.. nod.gif

Use wise card. Can lock the current currency by transferring to bank account Korea and its like debit card function. I changed from RM to Japanese Yen with rate 29-31 last year. Exchanged 2 times with different rates

K-ETA is valid for multiple entry from 2 years of issuance date or until passport expiry date, whichever is earlier.
I heard K-ETA need at least 3-5 working days to get approval these days, even though i get mine in 1 working day, so is better to apply earlier.

Anyway, it is ok to apply now without air ticket and hotel booking if your intended travel date is less than 1 month. Just fill in any random hotel name during the application process and change to your actual hotel address after you get your K-ETA, a few days before your departure.

Going to visit Seoul in April. Anyone kind to let me know if Korea is cash heavy or mostly accessible with wise card? Need to know whether how much cash should I exchange before heading there.

Just came back on Monday so I can offer some help:

1. yes right after you exit the restricted zone, on your left there is a CU store. Show them your kid passport for the shop to help to register one of the card for child fee, and 5year old does not need one since public transport is FOC,

2. Yes

3. not for 5-year old

4. depends on the shop but i mostly use cash..t-money i use for convenient shop like CU

5. not too sure

6. not too sure

I have some balance KRW if you are interested then let me know too biggrin.gif
