It is not a must. I am enrolled in international program. For those classes in Korean, then yes, must pass until Topik Level 4.

About data, I bought a 30 day unlimited sim from funtastickorea.com for 60k won. I guess it is the same as what Scarfe said but with a discount.

Service charge @ 10%
VAT @ 10%

Few years ago they had tax refund for a few dozens of hotels. Too bad they didn't continue that trend.

ohh. so only 2 charges? should be total 21% since the service charge also need to imposed VAT.

Yup, total 21%.

But take note that not all hotels follow the standard of including the tax rate into the quoted room charge.

Yes it is rushed but if you are constrained by your time then make the best of it.

However, March will be too early for cherry blossoms and I suspect most of the foliage will still be bate.

Quite rush. Spending 2 half days in Jeju is like the bare minimum, you couldn't even make it to Udo island (which you should) but generally is still quite rushed.
3 days in Busan and 3 days in Seoul is basically doable if you visit the main attractions only, but again understand you will miss out on plenty of places.

My suggestion, either forget Busan or Seoul. Quality over quantity.

i don think its a good idea to squeeze 3 main places in less than 2 weeks..in fact, if this is ur first time in korea and u truly wanna explore that place, u should get them as separate trip..like a week for Seoul..Another week for Busan and Jeju.

Of coz u can do all these trips in 11 days but u gonna miss out a lot of places.

Hi y'all! My itinerary is currently the same but its like 5 days Seoul and 4 days jeju from 30/3 to 7/4. Just a couple of questions.

1. Is it too early for cherry blossom if say we were to be in seoul from 3/4 to 7/4? and 30/3 - 2/4 in Jeju? Havent bought my tickets yet and we are planning to arrange to travel wen its most likely to bloom.

2. I know it is subjective, but just on an average how much would you spend on a meal in Seoul & Jeju? A range or just average will do!

Thanks in advance for the help!

1. Usually, cherry blossoms in Jeju earlier than in Seoul. So you're right in going to Jeju first, late March till early April is a good timeframe. In Seoul though, it varies somewhat. The first week of April should be a safe bet, otherwise second week would be best.

2. For me personally; I spend an average (very rough) of 20k won per meal, on average in Seoul. In Jeju, usually around the 15k won mark. Like you said, it's subjective. I can spend 20k won for dinner tonight, but I'd end up spending twice or triple that for the next 2 dinners after. Food is food, I don't really pay attention to food prices when it comes to trips.

4 days in Jeju is pretty okay, assuming you'll be staying in Jeju city (the north side) and you will be renting a car. You'll have enough time for Udo island, Seogwipo area and its surroundings (waterfalls and what not) as well as the east side of Jeju (Seongsan, Manjanggul, etc.etc). Could even squeeze in the west side too.

5 days in Seoul is about the bare minimum. Shouldn't be an issue visiting most of the main attractions.

1. Actually early April should be fine already. Since March already slowly transiting from winter to spring..

2. Not sure Jeju. But Seoul one pax around 20-30 (maybe i eat a lot)..if u decided to eat some exp food, eg living octopus..can go up to rm100+ per plate..but of coz if u small eater, grab here grab there with around rm10 maybe is sufficient for u d.

on issue no.3 , a pax for bbq is 18000-20000 won, a ramen is 6000-8000 won , mee cup is 1000-2000 won, street snack is 5000 won, milk and those drinks in 7-11 is 2000-4000 won. basically food is expensive.

for the train, each time u enter, is 1370 won. for purchase of cosmetic it is cheaper than malaysia, suggest u go lotte department store (duty free at 10th floor) and buy from there.

For purchase of food, for variety, buy at lotte mart, for limited but cheaper products, can buy at airport after u passed immigration and waiting at boarding gate, got few shops sell food, cigs & liquor, all duty free. can angkat and bring to the plane straight without worrying about weight.

For jeju, must visit mount hallasan , a truly magnificient place, skip those musuems. if you rent car, pls get the most economical car, petrol is very expensive

usually the cherry blossom event / activity started from end of mar to beginning of apr. this year also around the same time of your travel date. however if raining, then tree not that nice already laugh.gif

due to inflation of our rm, you need to spend more now. your trip next year, i can't predict the rate will be higher till how much. no longer cheap going to seoul anymore tongue.gif of cause spending in jeju will be cheaper compare to seoul. roughly estimate rm35 and above per pax for a meal in a normal restaurant. can be cheaper if sharing and depends on what you eat. street food is not cheap
