if you wan to get a kit lens go for the Pana, they are more durable.

+1 here. Been using both Oly and Pana lenses since 2009 and it seems the Pana has better built quality and more durable and they don't get broken in my own experience. However, Oly better quality lenses like the pro lines have much better built quality.

The suggested Oly 12-40 or Pana 12-35 is a good starting choice if you are not into any particular category of shoots. They will be be good as a walk-around or general purpose lens. If you want better coverage you can consider those 14-140 or similar units.

The modern DSLR zoom-in manual focusing coupled with peak focusing is another level so so much better than the split screen focusing since one can nail the exact spot to be in perfect focus! thumbup.gif but I am like you too, nostalgic at times ha ha blush.gif

I guess depends on whether you're iphone guy or not, GF9 many new features to play with, not complicated. EM10m2 more conventional with view finder, but advantage = image stabilizer ( once you get used to it, cant live without it rclxms.gif )

i will chose the E-M10 II.
a viewfinder is always good to have although i do not like EVF.
IBIS also always good when using third party lenses that do not have stabilization e.g. Laowa 7.5mm F2.0 laugh.gif

GF9K has more features but most of the time you wont be using it , trust me.
