i like 12mm to 20mm for everyday/travel use. 25mm just not my cup of tea, many like 50mm equilvalent fov but not me.

for those who are still in considering which prime to get, just go to the particular lens group on flickr and see which type photo you like and buy that lens.
p/s: if i manage to sell my 14mm + 45mm at once, i would like to try the not-so-many-ppl-like oly 17mm, always wanted a 35mm equilvalent lens. biggrin.gif

Then you might love the pana leica 15mm f1.7, it has its own character, something like the 20/1.7 but better. thumbsup.gif I have tried it but it doesn't work for me, although it's better and perform faster than the 20/1.7 I am still keeping my 20/1.7. My next target lens for m4/3 will be the the Pana leica 8-18mm.

Managed to snap up a used Olympus 9-18mm last weekend. Quite happy with the wide angle lens so far, and I must say that Olympus came up with a very ingenious plan to make the lens compact. smile.gif

Sharpness is definitely a step up from the kit lens (14-42mm EZ), closer to the prime lens of 17mm/f1.8.  Will be doing more tests ovwr6the next week.

Welcome to world of ultra-wide! rclxms.gif I am scouting for a used Pana Leica 8-18mm f2.8-4.0 right now.

Thanks for the welcome. Why are you looking for such lens?
*
I wanted an AF native lens for my GX8. The Laowa 7.5/f2 that I owned is a fully MF lens and I find that it's not easy to get a sharp shot when hand-holding for selfie, my face is not in focus most of the time, tough I have tried a couple tricks. So an AF lens will surely help a lot in selfie.

PanaLeica 12-60mm 2.8-4.0
*
Both so tempting, 12-35 has constant f2.8 yes?

Yep! And Dual IS II also for the 2nd gen lenses
*
On the other hand, the Panaleica 12-60 being a newer and premium lens, the output should be much better the the already old 12-35.

any idea about gx8 ?
is it big diff v om em10 ii ?
feel like jumpship to gx8 after saw the 4k features. hahhaa.
*
Apart from 4k gx8 has better resolution, 20mp vs 16mp. Shoots faster at 1/8000s vs 1/4000s. However IS wise the em10 ii shud be better since it has full 5-axis IS. Depends what you need, gx8 is a rangefinder style vs om10 mk ii slr style body.

IBIS is important. I am waiting for the day when a compact Olympus camera has 5-axis stabilization. Then I will be a happy man.
*
Me too, wanted one just for video, small body + small ultra wide angle lens laugh.gif

Hi all sifus here, I am in dilemma choosing between Olympus Om-d EM10 Mark ii and Mark iii.

I mainly used it for photography and occasionally use it for shooting video.
*
If money permits, I will have no problem choosing, definitely going for the em10 mk iii simply becoz newer body tends to be better, although it seems mk iii still uses the same 16mp sensor. But don't be fooled, the mk iii has many better features than the mk ii, and if you shoot video, you will want to have the mk iii becoz it has 4K! The only 2nd body in Olympus to enjoy it after the flagship em1 mk ii. The Mk iii has a new processing engine.

For me, mk iii it is, no question about it.

Read this: mkii VS mk iii

if you're thinking of an EM10 mark III might as well get a Panasonic G85. Can save money on grip somemore (the thing i hate about the EM5 / EM10 is the ergonomics when you stick a somewhat large lens onto it)

and it has weather sealing too (and Dual IS 2 if you pair a compatible Pana lens with it)

my primary lens are Nokton 17.5 f0.95

i always shoot wide open, that why 1/4000 are normal use for me.
the issue quite annoying as sometimes i missed the moment due to full black image.

ur Laowa poison too ya.

i have 42.5 also, but less use that lens. all time 17.5.

was planning to get 25 + 10.5 too but think liao few years still no money action.
*
Not as sharp as the Nokton 17.5 f0.95, way way behind in sharpness as well f stops, like 3 stops behind, price also more than double of my laowa 7.5/f2.0 sweat.gif

What body you are using it on?

i bought first gen EM5 with kits when it just release in malaysia.

few month later i after i bought my first Nokton then never going back to my 12-50 kits.

[AD Allert] selling my 12-50 now anyone want?

still using the first gen EM5.

i have Samyang 7.5 f3.5, not as convinient as your laowa coz most of the time i need defish.
*
That's the reason why I go for a rectilinear lens like the Laowa. The Oly 7-14 though rectilinear isn't as small.
