yeah i know the situation.
i still have pics still sitting in my memory card from few years back.  laugh.gif
snap a lot of photos but no time to go through them and process.

finding worthy pics if lucky can get more than 5% from the total taken.
but most of them are  mellow.gif

I had the same experience and eventually when my hard disk failed everything gone bangwall.gif Now I save in two separate places so if something goes wrong in one I still have them in another thumbsup.gif

still waiting for more pictures from your wide angle lens.
maybe we should organize a shoot out between 8mm F4 SLR magic vs Laowa 7.5mm f2 or olympus/panasonic wide angle lens just for fun.
anyone?
*
I was contemplating on the samyang 8mm but the laowa 7.5 showed up so i grabbed the laowa 7.5mm instead. Not a bit disappointed at all.

Here's some photos from recent HK trip in September and a China trip in early November, all shot with the extraordinary Laowa 7.5mm f2.0. For pp I used DxO Optics pro ver.9 coz the ver.11 not installed yet. Ver.11 has covered more camera models by module downloads specific to a brand/model and even lenses. However even with ver.9 I am already impressed.

Here they are:

Got a new swiss-made watch made from soyuz rocket material so I thought I used my old trusty 20/1,7 to capture its face:

hey guys,

just for fun, I would like to buy an M43 body, preferably a small one, with an EVF, just to play with some legacy lenses that I own (and I'd like to play with cctv lens as well)

right now, I'm interested with Panasonic GM5 due to its small form factor. will it suffice? or do you guys have any other model in mind?
*
GM5 or EM5 all ok except if you use gm5, if you mount a larger and heavier legacy lens you might face imbalances due to its small size. But if you use smaller legacy lenses gm5 would be just fine. thumbup.gif

EM5 is way too professional and out of my budget  laugh.gif

I dont plan to use this for serious job. only for fun. I already have Fujifilm X100S and Pentax K-5, so this M43 system is purely for legacy lenses. I am keen to try the cctv lens due to its crazy swirl bokeh effect  biggrin.gif

I have searched around, found the camera in Lazada for RM19++ with kitlens 12-32. is that a good price? or do you know any other places to buy with cheaper price?
*
No need to get the latest 2nd gen but the original Em5 used 2nd hand now so cheap wah thumbup.gif

BTW great shots thumbsup.gif

Nice! I have also the same lens but unfortunately my copy has a loose focusing ring which slips easily and makes it unusable.

at f1.4 either the chicken or the sambal ikan bilis will be bokeh'd

so ~f2.5-3.2 can get the whole plate into focus  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Sometimes half-revealed and half-blurred is preffered wah grin.gif

So the Nocticron 42.5 f1.2 did a better job eh?

Hi, everyone. Should i use the budget to buy 25mm f/1.2

or buy 25mm f/1.8 + another wide angle lens? sweat.gif
*
That depends on what you shoot really.

The 25/1.2 is a very very fast lens and Olympus designated this lens as a PRO level lens, a premium lens, construction-wise as well as price-wise. The 25mm f1.8 is nowhere near.

If you shoot only your wife either lens will do just fine but don't expect the f1.8 to pop out as much as the f1.2. I don't find the 25mm suitable for travel photos due to its narrow field of view (that's 50mm in FF!). You will be better off with a 12mm f2.0 or wider. In this respect, the 12-40mm f2.8 recommended earlier by the guys might be more appropriate and it's versatile too, capturing a wide variety of situation in varying focal length, landscapes, travels, buildings, streets, people, portrait and to some extent, macro shooting too.

But if your into only travel photos then the 12mm f2.0 should be sufficient, and its small size and light too, easy to carry around. The 12-40 f2/8 pro however is much much heavier and larger.

Hope that helps.

Guys, want some opinion, any of u here shooting with a combo of gx8 with the kit 12-32 or 14-42 lens? Thought of getting something small yet powerful mainly for walkabout and shooting family outing of kids doing activities etc
*
I still had mine 12-32. The inexpensive little gem is compatible with gx8's dual IS, no problem shooting family outing. Give it a go. thumbsup.gif

I carry 12-40 f2.8 with EM-5 Mark II for my previous trips to Taiwan and Bangkok.
Find it enough for all my travel shooting.
The weight is not heavy for me at all. (Maybe because previously carry DSLR with zoom lens).
*
The 12-40 PRO is very tempting indeed especially its sharpness and since its been out for quite sometime its value has dropped quite making it affordable now. If weight isn't an issue definitely this will be the go to lens.

Your pics specially those close-ups sure dang killer sharp! notworthy.gif
