windscreen claim can include tint like branded tint? is there a maximum?
*
Yeah, you can include tints and you can change the maximum amount to claim. Of course, the higher the amount, the higher your premium will be. Well, that's my experience with Takaful Malaysia, I am unsure about other insurance providers.

just chnge my brake pump brake pads. previously it will produce a "yi yi yi" sound like metal rubbing against each others when car starts moving. Sound will disappear after a while. been like dat all the while. Then everytime mention to service centre, they say brake pad dirty help me clean it. then the sound will be gone for one month or two then came back again.

Now after 5 years++ like dat, finally they say brake pump rosak oledi, kenot service. must change. so change brake pump, brake pad and i think brake oil also. Now new sound every time i press the brake gently. "duk duk duk". Quite low noise as I had to wind down the car windows in order to hear the sound. I think it happens when i brake gently or press down on the brake slowly.
*
Are you talking about the rear drum brakes or front disc brakes?

RM300++
should be rear brakes.
*
I don't EVER recall paying above 100 to change the rear pumps shocking.gif

I also have the duk duk duk noise when I gently press on the brake pedal. I tried changing both drum shoes and brake pumps but the noise was still there. I think you need to change the drum assembly then the noise will go away.

Guys, for my next service, these are the things I wish to service:
1) Timing belt kit
2) FEAD belt
3) Waterpump
4) Radiator coolant flush
5) Air cond system check and oil flush

But I think I'm going to DIY #4, question is when can I do this? Should I service #1-3 first then bring back home only diy #4? Or it doesn't matter?

As for #5, I'm letting it done in other workshop. Since they are seperately done, any proper sequence?
*
Steps 1-4 is done altogether since you are changing the water pump while step 4 is done last. You will need new coolant because removing the water pump also releases coolant. So, you have to do 1-4 at the workshop.

There's a CVT Oil + Filter + Gasket promo at lazada right now for RM157. Should I take it or get the original parts instead?

Saga FLX, right? As far as I am aware, there is no button to disable it. I am unsure about the 3rd Gen Saga if you have one, sorry.

Hi guys, if i want to change my car alarm system to the one that will auto lock once I step on the brake pedal, how much cost at proton sc?
*
None of the Sagas came equipped with auto-lock so, the SC probably doesn't sell auto-lock mods. Visit the accessory shop instead, should be under RM100 after installation.

Wah my 2009 Saga BLM already reached 200,000 km already last week without never ever having major car trouble (thank god). Just keep with servicing schedule will really help keep car troubles from appearing.

Really love the car, unfailingly has been with me through all my ups and downs these 9 years, 5 days a week drive 50km++ to and from work, weekend always jalan-jalan some more and I plan to continue using it as long as possible. When/if the day comes when I am forced to sell or the car dies I'll probably cry.

Should I do overhaul to prolong the the engine life?
*
Save your money and do it once the engine starts causing issues. In the meantime, just do periodic maintenance and think about using synthetic oil. smile.gif

The filter is usually changed along with the transmission fluid. About once every 5 years.
Got any recommended brand? Or are the autolock mods all OEM branded?
*
They are all OEM, or pretty much the same I think. Just find a proper shop smile.gif

hi guys!

im driving saga plus and the engine air filter part number should be pw910412

but i cant find any seller selling it online, they are selling pw810704

if you know any seller for pw910412  engine air filter, please let me know.

or can i purchase it from proton service center?

thanks smile.gif
*
I'm very certain the part is PW810704 for Saga plus air filter. Buy it from the spare part store for 15 ringgit, there's no need to visit Proton. I think you might have mistyped the pw910412 number.

I recently purchase a new brake pad for my saga blm, supposely original proton brand. While the box is definitely proton the item itself looks like MINTYE. Did I bought a fake product? People just use the box and put other brand brake pad inside?
*
Don't worry, it's original. Mintye is the supplier for Proton brake pads, and even some Perodua original pads. Look for original product pictures online, they will have a faint mintye logo on the box and pads.

If you bought mintye pads in the first place it would still be the same as originals except it's probably cheaper. smile.gif

hello guys, how to clean headlamp`s cover "kuning" already  hmm.gif
*
Go to a car detailer and they can properly remove the yellow haze. I did mine for RM60, make sure they add some wax later so it doesn't turn yellow again.

Also, my wiper nozzle isn't working. Anyone knows how to fix it? I tried poking the holes with a needle as well.

Hi all.
My Saga FLX SE 1.6 have small cracking sound when turning left or right. Checked and foreman said driveshaft. Need to change the whole driveshaft or just buy the CV joint kit? (if it exist, just wondering. I know some car have this kit).

Plus, what is the recommended spark plug? Iridium or platinum? Any specific specification for campro engine?
*
I think better change the whole drive shaft, go all out to remove the whole issue.

As for the spark plugs, I'm using tan chong's campro spark plug. Dirt cheap, you can get 4 for under RM20. They are the same as OEMs but cheaper.

How is the Tan Chong spark plugs compared to NGk Iridium spark plugs?
*
Can't comment on the difference. I have only used OEMs and the NGK G Platinum plugs, and even I can't feel any mileage or performance improvements. But these platinum plugs do last longer, I opened it after 20k km, and they were still fine.

Guys , why my car alarm beeping sound when I lock / unlock the car become silent after driving in the rain ? Is it possible that the moisture damage the system ? Or wiring loose ? How to bring back the beeping ?
*
Try pressing both lock and panic button at the same time, it should trigger the beep noise.

if rear brake bunyi...high pitch screeching sound when braking down a slope (eg parking ramp), is that a sign something needs to be replaced?

front brake pad and disc just changed early this year
*
Our Saga usually has a faulty brake pump (or wheel cylinder) after a few years. Try changing that first and ask your mechanic what he thinks regarding the condition of the drum shoes.

hi, my house saga rear bearing spoil... need to replace it .. any sifus know how much it costs? I went to one workshop n they quoted me rm220 for one side....
*
The workshop's price is bit on the high side, the part itself is around RM120 becaise the FLX has a big bearing hub at the rear.

Guys,

Previously my stock rim (15 inch flx se) got dented. Now already change to new one. Same 15 inch with stock tyre (195/50) But it looks a bit flattened.

- change to smaller width (thinking 175/55) OR
- let it stock?

I forgot wat jj this new vorsteiner rim sad.gif
*
I'd say keep it stock, the engineers know how the car's supposed to be driven on what tyres. Anyway, that 175/55/15 is an odd size, you might have difficulties finding it. Or... you could downsize to 14 inch tyres biggrin.gif

Guys, have an old model saga blm .
Notice that the engine seems to leak some engine oil. The parts that get affected just in top left of the extractor.
What are the main cause normally?
How much cost might involved?
*
You mean leak near the top of the engine cover? Try changing the valve cover gasket first. This would cost around 70-100rm to do it.
