Not sure we're talking about the same thing, i'm actually refer to this break light at the center.

That thing is RM5-RM10 per bulb. So, go to another accessory shop or you can go to MR DIY and do it yourself, search: "Change third brake light bulb" on youtube.

Hi all want to ask saga flx sv 2013

SC offer me

Timing belt 350
Fan belt 84
Labour charge 150

Is it expensive? How about outside workshop
*
Yup, that is expensive alright. I can find a workshop that charges 350 for timing belt AND labour. Do it outside, if you want it cheaper.

Our saga's fuel filter sits below the rear right bumper of our car. Really easy to reach, actually.

next step, you can learn how to dismantle the fan blower and clean it.

check the cabin filter and clean the fan blower is only a fracton from airocnd servicing.

aircond minor service : flush old oil & gas can refill new gas & oil, replace receiver drier and expansion valve

aircond full service service : including the minor service, open dashboard to take out cooling coil, inspect and clean cooling coil, aircond filter, fan blower etc.

will know much more when i visit azbi centre, right now referring  from @cheelam aircond thread, azbi centre fb & experience from previos repair @ autohaus kl.

pic below is how the aircond works :

user posted image

for more info, checkout @cheelam aircond thread, azbi centre fb, refer to their posts & videos to understand more.

from my understanding, through my experiences as noob car owners, many not aware of car aircond service because of perception of car still new , aircond still cold so aircond still ok, and also some mechanic say to them, no need to service, got problem only come. Until one day their aircond is not in good condition, then only they will come ask why their aircond is not working.
*
Really good info, man! Thanks for sharing.

Do you have an estimated price quote for the minor and full service for our Saga?

My mechanic found a leak somewhere in the water jacket in my Saga when this happened, I lost quite a bit of coolant. Damage was around RM120 with 1l coolant.

Yeah, I noticed my Saga's fan was still spinning even after pulling the key off. I went to the mechanic thinking it was the relay, but he found a leak and all is good afterwards.

Hi sifu, I am Saga FLX CVT user at 120k mileage

Its time for me to do the following service item:
A workshop quoted me RM450 for new ac compressor oil, flushing and other minor ac service.

Is this a fair price?
*
Last time I did that last November, I paid RM129 for these 3 things. Addon RM80 for the receiver drier. They used this flushing machine though, they didn't open the dashboard. You should keep shopping.

Anyway, anyone can recommend shock absorbers for FLX? I'm looking for Monroes, Sachs and TRWs but they are hard to find here in KL. Maybe I'm not looking at the right places.

Does it sound like this? Prepare around RM500 for a new IAFM module.

Do you guys use the silicone or original rubber valve cover gasket? Can anyone comment on which is better?

The original cover I changed after 2 years has some leaks already.

Skim  sometime gv trouble. the workshop you engage for the overhaul cant settle for you?
Each cylinder has same compression/pressure not? COP all ok? Any vacuum leak?
The replaced original rubber in 2015 last me 4y b4 i replaced it thinking it leaks but is the cam oil seal leak.... doh.gif
30-40k is ok. just if the transmission is not "tortured" in the sense of not doing those prohibited driving habits.
20k km interval the cvt fluid is still quite clean.
Those daily driver who stuck in traffic jam evday going to work are advised to change it max 40k km interval following the user manual.

Each cvt fluid change interval please do proper oil leveling and computerized adaptation. A MUST.
Some SKL foreman will say no need la, changed many proton car also no need to do la...it is because they dont know how to do it most of the case.

The max cvt filter interval that i delayed to change it is 120k km.
*
Thanks for the reply. My mechanic already took a look at it, definitely was due to rubber valve cover. Ouch, that oil seal must've cost you an arm.

Saga flx plus 1.3 90,000km. Proton authorized service center just quote me price inclusive labour charge as below:

Timing belt set + fan belt = 700
Waterpump = 220

So expensive meh?

Got any workshop that do timing belt ori proton one?
*
Try asking Autohauskl. If you bring your own parts to an outside workshop, it's easily around RM500 for all these items.

Today it happen that I cannot lock my car using the remote. Each time I do that the alarm will trigger. All doors are closed tight so anyone know what's the problem? Alarm kong?
Also because of the alarm trigger I notice that the honk sound is not consistent anymore, sometimes got sound but very soft, sometimes it didn't sound.
Does the honk and alarm share the same component and how much it cost to repair? Do you guys just buy any china brand honk online?
*
I don't know if this will help you but give this a try: press both alarm and panic button on the key at the same time. It kinda resets the alarm for me. Before I couldn't lock or unlock, but after pressing both buttons, the doors start locking.

hi,

Planning to get a Saga FLX 2015 (1.3AT) as a car here in malaysia. Basically a car that get me to point A-B and car that i can use to roam around KL on weekends.

Questions:
- There would be wear and tear since its a 2nd hand car. How much would it usually cost to change engine mount, transmission oil, brake fluid, Engine Oil, bushings? (Basically im planning to change things that should be maintained when getting a 2nd hand car)

- What flx model would be your recommendation?

- Trusted shop? Im around bangsar area.

- Can I still order from proton a stock steering wheel, front seats? (in case i decide to bring everything back in stock condition)

Appreciate any information from Saga owners. smile.gif

1. Expect around 300-400 after labour to replace mounts, I paid 400 before but I can find them for 300 after labour now. CVT oil will be killer at RM400 to change CVT oil and its filter. There are those RM50 OEM filters, but I never used them, can't say much. But to be honest, it's cheap, parts are plentiful and so easy to find. Also the Saga isn't picky about engine oil, so your budget can go from RM100-200.

2. Get the executive edition, it has ABS, it can save your life one day.

3. No experience in Bangsar, sorry.

4. Yes.

Hi Saga Sifu,

I got a 2012 flx, the car's gas tank is not able to fill in, the petrol gun keep jumping every few cents and i have to fill it super slow.

I saw some one mentioned it could be a charcoal canister clog up, i changed it but the problem are still the same.

i saw few youtube video mentioned it could also be a purge valve or vent valve, i try to search around and i could only found purge canister.

do you guys know our proton saga flx have vent valve canister?

if the purge canister faulty will it cause petrol filling issue?
*
May I ask how you put the petrol gun in? Did you push the gun all the way in, or barely put it in?

yes, i did all the way to fill the petrol. it is confirmed the EVAP system issue, but this saga seem have lesser compartment in the EVAP system, i checked again the petrol tank, it seem it doesnt have vent valve canister, the hose also no block.
*
Have you gone to the mechanic or are you going to live this way fueling the car each time? I usually put the gun most of the way in, if that makes sense, doesn't seem to kick me out everytime I click on the gun.

i have fill my fuel like that for many years, i asked many mechanic and many said not sure and want to check, quote me for few hundred to thousand. that's why i dont trust them and prefer to understand the evap system. i replace the fuel canister on my own and checked all the hose, but i still dont get a root cause.

what you mean with most of the way in, means just slot in the gun for 1 inch like that? if yes, that's how i did to fill as much as i can. if put the whole gun in, it click within a second when i pressed
*
Then that's normal for the car lol. Even if I try going all in with the gun, it will stop the gun immediately on my Saga. I learnt that when I bought the car years ago. I usually go halfway to most of the way in with the gun.

Don't bother changing the fuel tank, I reckon it do you nothing.

Go to car washes that offer headlamp polishing, pay around 60-100rm for both sides. Try small before you decide to buy new headlamps. PS: those 100-200 headlamps are oems.

Unfortunate. Have you tried going to car washes or detailers yet? They'll sand and polish the headlamps and I think it's definitely possible to clear it from the pictures.
