Do you have any similar experience and get it done by those car wash service? Any recommended car wash service in KV ?
Indeed, toothpaste effect should be the same as baking soda+Lemon. I wonder those headlamp wrap/lamination kind of service advertised in Facebook could prevent such deterioration of the headlamp over time if we do it when the car is new.  hmm.gif

Which city are you in, jerry? I had it done in Putrajaya precint 15 long time ago. Look for car washes that offer multiple services like coating, polishing, interior cleaning, these people most likely have the tools needed to polish the headlamp.

Yeah, you skipped coolant and timing belt, I'd personally include them in the next service.

Thanks for sharing bro. If replace at sc centre , did they offer duplicate key service also? Want to avoid the hassle
*
Do you have a Tesco near you? Usually there's a key shop that can cut and transfer your old key stuff like chips to the new key, even easier than SC.

My next service cost (quoted based on proton service site), 120K KM/72 months
Car not even 80K KM yet, but over 72 months already.
Huhu, kopak.

Is it possible to get it lower at outside workshop? but scared they will not do it properly and tipu (guna barang tak ori or skip certain services but charge me full  sad.gif )

That Timing Belt Kit include Water Pump eh? because I cannot find Water Pump in any service period on Proton website

All these prices are absurd. No offence. I always brought my parts with me to a mechanic I trust and save $$$. I do know a few trustworthy mechanics though, where are you location-wise, Winky? Hit me in the PM if you'd like, I will try to help you.

My fronts absorbers are shot, is the KYB RS worth getting over standard absorbers?

Read they handle better but one mechanic I met was like, it feels rougher and I won't feel much difference since i have stock tyres and rims.

My preference would be towards the oem absorbers from proton. It was good enough for me. Heck, it performs better than my current Persona
*
Original Proton you mean? I thought they were the same as say, APM and KYB UMW standard? Anyway, I am ordering KYB rs, it's just slightly more expensive than standard kyb but cheaper than originals, but I hope it's worth it reading this forum. Will update once it's installed. Thanks for replying, btw.

Anyone have used this fuel cleaner before? Is there any difference to your car performance? Planning to get one...

I used it twice, same brand and Valve Clean by Liqui Moly. No difference whatsoever.

I'd use it if the car's been sitting or if I am buying a used car. If it's a daily-driven car, or if it usually gets BHP and Caltex fuels, I wouldn't bother. Or you can get those Hardex fuel cleaners for RM15, they also have the same PEA ingredient Techron fuel cleaner has just to make you feel good without breaking the bank.

Hi members,my friend saga flx signal and hazard light not working, checked all fuses and changed flashing relay, still the same,tq

Has he changed this hazard button? I had that happen to me once. Shop wants RM100 to replace it while the store only sells it for under RM30, hope he can follow this and DIY.

edit: This video has a better camera angle.

Any recommended workshop for timing belt in Ampang/Cheras? I would like to bring for labour but I am afraid if mechanics are hesitant to do it.

PS: regarding the above posts, I agree what Caviar said, do the basic first before jumping into deeper pockets, do them spark plugs, filters, etc.

Hi all,
Using Saga BLM here. Recently notice got burn rubber smell coming out from engine after driving. What are some of the possible things to troubleshoot.
*
Replace the valve cover gasket. Most likely cause of the smell if it smells burnt. Or any hoses at the back.

that day end up replacing whole valve cover, foremen said my car old d and run a lot (Mileage very high), the valve cover willl bend/deform as it is plastic parts not like older campro/CPS use aluminum cover, as it still leaks after replacing the rubber gasket, they did apply some "gasket glue" near camshafts pulley area previously replacing the rubber gasket but it still leaks. RM500++ damage..... cry.gif  cry.gif
*
RIP RM500.

ps: what valve cover brand do you prefer to install? I tried the original gasket, son of a gun leaked again nearly a year afterwards. I bought a cheap silicone gaslet for 10-20 and had it changed, and phew, 2 years later no more leaks thumbup.gif

saga pakai FLX 1.3.

Just a few questions for people more experienced with cars.
1. My 12 year old 1.6 Saga FL currently runs averagely 7km/litre with 90% city driving. Is that high mileage?
2. What bulb size/code do I look for when replacing the signal lights? I tried searching online but ended up getting few different ones. I was thinking to replace the stock bulbs with LEDs.
*
Yeah, that's normal, don't feel bad. I get around 8-10km/l with the FLX CVT if I drive in city. The best fuel advice I can give is to drive outside of peak hours if possible and use more highway.

Buddy, follow this video and pull it out. Maybe you can even find the LED in Mr diy, I think I've seen the bulb as per video before in certain stores. BAU15S

Yikes... thanks for the tip. Maybe time to consider engine overhaul.
*
If it's really 90% city drive, that's actually normal. You really need highway speeds to get better economy and better FC figures per fill-up.

Unrelated, but is it okay to put 6pk1677 drive belt on our FLXs? I bought it from my mechanic, but he put that instead of the 6pk1669.
