May I ask all sifus here
I usually set my car odometer to trip just to see how far I drive as I reset it almost after very pump of fuel
Recently I began to notice that the settings reset itself to the original total km travelled and on some occasion clock resets
Also fuel indicator is showing empty when I have pumped fuel after a few days and did not travel much

What could it be besides battery or fuel gauge?

i had the same experience like yours mentioned.

the thing is i also i did not know what is the root cause of the problem "the settings reset itself to the original total km travelled and on some occasion clock resets"
from my experience, it occurs when i parked my car and not drive for a few days (1-2 days usually). btw, i just ignored it since i still can start my car, so i rule out the battery possibility as my battery usage is 1 year +. not sure about the battery brand issue, as now i use amaron. next time when tim to change battery, will try use century battery again,or other battery brand and we shall see whether it's battery issue or not.

btw, about the fuel indicator, my opinion is check the fuel pump, because the sender unit (that controls the fuel gauge) is built-in with the fuel pump.

p/s: warning, changing the fuel pump may, or not solve the problem, just like my situation right now. my situation is complicated. but first thing is check the fuel pump first.

if clock reset maybe the dash meter used a battery or memory capacitor which no longer functioning properly.. i guess only.. my car is using green Amaron battery normal one, seems fine to me. 1.5yo battery 2weeks didnt start, still able to crank start engine, radio memory and dash meter clock setting still intact.

Fuel meter wise i have no idea, wiring? fuel level sensor?

Anyone have the CVT remapped? How much is the cost? And does it have torque converter in it?

Our Punch CVT is wet clutch-based. not utilizing torque converter at all

Try asking Autohauskl. If you bring your own parts to an outside workshop, it's easily around RM500 for all these items.

If you buy own parts can also ask SC to change. Did that for a few items, bought Proton part from outside and service in SC. Otherwise just service outside. My usual mechanic is not around most of the time, so sometimes go back do service at SC.

Google for Proton parts center near your area. Sometimes not necessary will buy original Proton, mostly buy upon recommendation of the friend who do servicing for me because I'm also not know much about which major parts are suitable. But for sparkplug and filter and oil I always bring my own when servicing at Proton SC. Other parts if suddently upon inspection need to change, just pay up lor, no choice.
Aircond service mostly do outside because it is far cheaper and faster. In SC some parts not available so you have to wait for them to order and then come back once part is available.

Btw anyone know why when first start to drive in the morning the engine feel like no power? Need to either start the engine and let it run for few minutes then drive,, baru OK. Happen just recently. Also the tappet sound, is it expensive to fix?

Just done servicing the timing and fan belt at zordaq shah alam today. Price quite reasonable and very friendly staff, share a lot of knowledge too when asked.

Ori proton timing kit set - 480
Fan belt - 90

Total = rm570, both inclusive labour, a little bit cheaper than AutohausKL quotation and much cheaper than SC that quote me rm700 for the same items as above smile.gif

hmm, if u sure. mine previous IAFM made the engine sound noisy. it doesnt make the distinctive tuk tuk tuk sound, just noise like metal plastic kind of sound...

CPV give sewing machine sound.

Campro use hydraulic tappet, if u delayed eo interval quite often maybe reli tappet indeed..

It is not the tak tak tak sound that follows engine rev. But the sound more noticeable when start engine from cold. After running for a while it will slowly soften but still can hhear it. Found one recording in YouTube. Very similar.
