Guys,i'm back again with my CVT gearbox problem for saga FLX...the car been idling for these few months i will just start n keep it running and go round my parking lots every week...So i've been thinking to convert to manual, anyone here have experience of doing that to their car? i mean the cost, process and durability using manual instead of auto CVT,coz i've kinda sick of this gearbox, cant use the car anymore now...izzit advisable to do that? thanks a lot.

Hey all, previously my air intake mouth and hose (connecting to the air intake box) was missing after I sent my car for paint job. After 2 months, the boss finally managed to find one (bought a new one) and installed it.

After that I notice there is a noise every time I step on the gas pedal (no noise if I step on it slowly and gradually). It sounds like air sucked in / leaked out.

Here's the video, take note on the sound just before the engine revs up, it is the moment I press on the gas pedal.
Also I noticed the hose connecting to the back of the box is actually dislocated.

user posted image

I then tighten it back thinking it was the culprit of the sound. Right after fixing it back, I tried the same approach by pumping the gas pedal but the sound is still there. Is this normal? Cause I have been driving without the air intake mouth and hose for 2 months and I kind of forgot how it sound with one installed.

The hose from air filter connect to throttle body no connect properly (the clips), u can do it manually

Do you guys use the silicone or original rubber valve cover gasket? Can anyone comment on which is better?

The original cover I changed after 2 years has some leaks already.

There is so many misconceptions about cvt service by alot people. Fb page tuned by campro said need to change cvt oil every 20k. I think that is crazy.

30-40k is ok. just if the transmission is not "tortured" in the sense of not doing those prohibited driving habits.
20k km interval the cvt fluid is still quite clean.
Those daily driver who stuck in traffic jam evday going to work are advised to change it max 40k km interval following the user manual.

Each cvt fluid change interval please do proper oil leveling and computerized adaptation. A MUST.
Some SKL foreman will say no need la, changed many proton car also no need to do la...it is because they dont know how to do it most of the case.

The max cvt filter interval that i delayed to change it is 120k km.

Thanks for the reply. My mechanic already took a look at it, definitely was due to rubber valve cover. Ouch, that oil seal must've cost you an arm.

May I ask all sifus here
I usually set my car odometer to trip just to see how far I drive as I reset it almost after very pump of fuel
Recently I began to notice that the settings reset itself to the original total km travelled and on some occasion clock resets
Also fuel indicator is showing empty when I have pumped fuel after a few days and did not travel much

What could it be besides battery or fuel gauge?

i had the same experience like yours mentioned.

the thing is i also i did not know what is the root cause of the problem "the settings reset itself to the original total km travelled and on some occasion clock resets"
from my experience, it occurs when i parked my car and not drive for a few days (1-2 days usually). btw, i just ignored it since i still can start my car, so i rule out the battery possibility as my battery usage is 1 year +. not sure about the battery brand issue, as now i use amaron. next time when tim to change battery, will try use century battery again,or other battery brand and we shall see whether it's battery issue or not.

btw, about the fuel indicator, my opinion is check the fuel pump, because the sender unit (that controls the fuel gauge) is built-in with the fuel pump.

p/s: warning, changing the fuel pump may, or not solve the problem, just like my situation right now. my situation is complicated. but first thing is check the fuel pump first.

if clock reset maybe the dash meter used a battery or memory capacitor which no longer functioning properly.. i guess only.. my car is using green Amaron battery normal one, seems fine to me. 1.5yo battery 2weeks didnt start, still able to crank start engine, radio memory and dash meter clock setting still intact.

Fuel meter wise i have no idea, wiring? fuel level sensor?

never heard of Punch CVT transmission can be remapped..
any link or source we can refer to?

Our Punch CVT is wet clutch-based. not utilizing torque converter at all
