QUOTE(DX_Kidjal @ Oct 10 2016, 11:47 AM) Just now my Saga FLX SV CVT battery (dry battery) died. The battery last about 3 years. The new battery cost about RM320+. But, I want to share info with you guys about car that use CVT gearbox: 1. You cannot jump start a car that uses CVT gearbox. Yes, you can jumpstart, but there will be consequences 2-3 month later, like your car cannot start. The mechanic says, jump starting a car that uses CVT gearbox can damage the electronic component especially the CVT gearbox. 2. You cannot use wet battery on a car that uses CVT gear box. The electronic component are very sensitive.
3. Proton dry battery only last about 2-3 year before you change into new one. Huhu...cvt auto car are expensive to maintain compare to manual ones huhu. Could you share with us where you got that fact from? I'm thinking of using wet batteries for my car once my current MF battery has no more life left.

QUOTE(Itsuki_Kun @ Oct 31 2016, 12:38 PM) Hi guys, I'm owning Saga FLX 1.3 (A) I want to ask about CVT fluid.. My car already 5 years old and clocked 18k km only.. After I search some other forum/blog for changing CVT fluid... the owner say go SC for change CVT fluid because need to use computer setting after change CVT fluid(for check the CVT fluid level has enough or not).. & I forgot which forum/blog got other people said 1st time no need change CVT filter and then 2nd time only change.. So.. Is that OK I just buy the CVT fluid and change by myself without that CVT filter ? Thank you very much. That forum must've been the V69 thread, there were a few people saying you should change your CVT filter the second time. If your car was 3-years-old I would just change the fluid, and change the fluid with the filter for the next change. However, for your case, I would rather change both CVT fluid and CVT filter since it's close to being 6 years old. Regarding the bold: you are going to let a mechanic change the CVT and not change it by your self right?

QUOTE(king_lover23 @ Nov 8 2016, 02:10 PM) this bosch brake pad can use at my saga FLX? Yes, definitely. The Bosch part number is: 0 986 AB1 031 Are you gonna buy it? It seems pretty expensive in my opinion.

QUOTE(king_lover23 @ Nov 8 2016, 04:19 PM) thx for ur reply.. i dunno what is the market price.. i just search in lazada.. and got 2 options available.. one is bosch(RM80) and another one is bendix metal king ( RM100) which one better ? and produce less dust? curren stock brake pad produces damn lot of dust.. >< The bosch part is OEM, so it makes the same amount of dust. Expect to see more dust with the Bendix metal king. Try finding ceramic ones.

QUOTE(audia3 @ Nov 12 2016, 05:55 PM) Hi... Wanna to change to iridium spark plugs n drop in air filter... Which brand n model are u recommend? The best? Heya... Are you using the Campro engine? For Iridium plugs, I'd get either NGK TR6IX or Denso IT20 depending on which one is cheaper. I agree with what Wankel said so I'd keep on using the stock air filters. They are also cheap to replace.

Mine assisting me on this please. Thanks. Heya, Check this link: http://proton.com/protonapps/model/saga/pr...ProCareSaga.pdfYour replacement items should be under Saga SV (MT) on the 80k km column. @V12Kompressor Think you could add the ProCareSaga link in the first or second post? I think it's useful.

QUOTE(Babytiffy @ Dec 9 2016, 01:13 PM) Hi thanks for the assistance. The price stated is rough estimation from proton rite? What if i buy from spare part shop and bring to outside shop for servicing, will that be cheaper? Yes, the prices are from Proton SCs. So buying from a spare part shop and servicing your car outside is cheaper; you will save on labour costs, and possibly on the engine oil, spark plugs and the aircon blower filter. QUOTE(sonicmaster @ Dec 23 2016, 12:19 PM) Sorry, I think I've said the wrong thing. I see from the service book. there put a "R" = replace for transmission oil. Do we use whole bottle of transmission oil? no right? Do they do the CVT service or just change the oil? What do you mean do the CVT service? The CVT service is exactly like in post #2, replace 4 bottles (litres) of cvt oil and the cvt filter.

Recently when cold start CVT warning light on, once hot it disappear Before this never happen before.. The Saga FLX has no dipstick for the CVT oil. Hmm, does the CVT light appear every time you turn on the engine or just once?

QUOTE(DrZan @ Jan 27 2017, 02:14 AM) Yea bro, I do realise the getrag gearbox, is it really worth the extra ~10k? Coz 2009 or 2010 BLM can get around RM10k, still need to budget abit for repair mah Up to you, however, safety-wise the FLX beats the BLM if you can find a decent used FLX with ABS and two airbags.

QUOTE(New_born @ Jan 31 2017, 09:18 AM) Dear all. Any recommendation for workshop around kajang?? Need to change my flx sv timing belt.. Thanks in advance. Could you travel a bit further to Zordaq Bangi? I've been there, they are pretty good. How old is your car? And how many kms did you drive with it? My car is around 5 years old but it only has 57k km, not sure if I should change now or later.

QUOTE(Skinny01010 @ Feb 12 2017, 10:31 PM) Hey, I'm looking to buy a used flx. Read online that only the executive variant has abs, but how do I tell if it's executive or standard? If you don't want to open the bonnet; check for fog lights, see if there is steering-mounted audio controls, body-coloured side-mirros and 14-inch alloy wheels. QUOTE(Skinny01010 @ Feb 13 2017, 08:36 AM) Guess I didn't think of that. Thanks! If you don't mind, do you think paying 26k OTR for a 2014 Saga SV with about 48k km is reasonable? For me, might as well go for the 2012/2013 1.6 Saga with ABS. It's still within your budget range.

QUOTE(sai_is @ Feb 22 2017, 02:09 PM) Hi Guys, how many bottles or liter needed to change getrag GB oil? tq. Check the first page, there's the Manual Transmission Fluid List chart. Your Getrag should be under No. 4; you will need 1.8 litres of the oil. Buy the green Proton Getrag Tranmission bottle.

QUOTE(sai_is @ Feb 22 2017, 04:22 PM) thank you very much. is there any other alternative besides proton-sourced transmission oil? Sorry, I'm not sure about that. If you are free, read the car spec page at the end of your owner's manual, maybe it'll say which oil to use.

Just curious, do you guys always skim your disc rotors every time you change the pads? Or do you think it's unnecessary? Also, does the stock saga pads have wear indicators? I can hear some squeal each time I press moderately on the brakes.

QUOTE(dares @ Mar 1 2017, 06:02 PM) If not uneven no need skim. If your brake pedal vibrates whenever you brake (fast or slow), then probably need to skim. You shouldn't skim your rotors too many times. If skimmed more than twice I'd advise to change new. Thanks dares! I never had my rotors skimmed. It's just that today, my mechanic looked at my car and said I should consider skimming them but I never even noticed any pedal vibration while braking, it's still smooth. So what do you think?
