hello.

may I ask,

I happen to know savvy and blm share the same rear spring.

in order for me to use 185/55/15 and more comfort,
what should I do on the spring?

its 11 years old, kinda used.
current mileage at 160k
changed absorber
tyre at 195/45/15

Now for a technical post from me hoping others may be curious.
I'm interested in jury rigging a cruise control and consider the AU$600 price online for aftermarket units to be way too high.
My first step is to see if I can rig up remote throttle control which would mean splicing into the wires of the pedal potentiometer.
My measuring of the plug found pins 5 and 6 each supply 5 Volts to the two separate pots in the pedal control, pins 2 and 3 are the earths for each of those, and pins 4 and 1 are the voltage return that provides throttle input, pin 4 varies from 0.55 V at idle to 4.70 Volts at full throttle, Pin 1 I figure is the error check signal which varies from 0.27 V to 2.35 V conveniently half the main signal so quite simple to rig up a voltage divider to provide that input.
My plan is to take one of the 5V and Ground inputs, run them through an adjustable voltage regulator then feed the output to line 4 and run the output through a simple two resistor voltage divider also to pin 1, I'm thinking by running the voltage directly like that it will mean not having to disconnect the plug from the pedal sensor with the voltages overruling it. I haven't tested anything yet while I wait for some bits to arrive but if anybody has any thoughts and experience here I'm all ears.

BTW one internal pedal pot is pins 3,4,5 the other one is 1,2,6.

I had been thinking about doing this for some time. Option that I am considering include:

1. Micro-controller. Looking at Arduino UNO etc.
2. Adjustable voltage regulator.
3. Potentiometer.
4. Wire and pulley.

The best option is using micro-controller with the advantage of having full control of everything (eg. disengage by brake, remap the throttle responsiveness...etc). Disadvantage is the complexity in getting things to work with safety and reliability in mind.

I am considering the adjustable voltage regulator option. There are 2 approaches for this option. Use common adjustable vr such as LM317 or get more sophisticated digital adjustable VR. I am more toward the second approach. I found one selling around 5-10 USD with 0.04v step (hint: winner). However, I have concern with the output of digital adjustable VR. They are likely to be PWM and I do not know whether this will be an issue for the ECU.

I am also looking for the male and female connectors for the paddle. Do not want to cut any wires. Let me know if you know where to source them.

Anyway, I am very interested with your diy project. Please keep us updated. smile.gif

BLM spring is softer than flx spring.. but not sure flx spring can fit into BLM..

or you can use those buffer spring to make stock blm spring a bit stiff and comfort..

tried but no use.

I read using perdana front spring for the rear.
and taxi blm spring, what is that?

If you would like to have a more comfort ride, use higher profile tires 60 or 65.

For my FLX, I up my tires from 185/60R14 to 185/65R14....

sacrifice some handling feel...

and opt comfort tires like Continental premium contact or comfort contact..

Yeah. Downsize is a good option but too expensive. .

Reason, my tyres are purchased in 2016

What I can think of, is to change the rear spring for better comfort. Please share with me.

Should I use perdana front or buy the proride heavy duty spring.

Already updated to the latest firmware, reset the head unit after updating still have the problem. At the moment when going to turn off the car switch back to radio mode to avoid the problem

Hi guys, I'm owning Saga FLX 1.3 (A)
I want to ask about CVT fluid.. My car already 5 years old and clocked 18k km only.. After I search some other forum/blog for changing CVT fluid... the owner say go SC for change CVT fluid because need to use computer setting after change CVT fluid(for check the CVT fluid level has enough or not).. & I forgot which forum/blog got other people said 1st time no need change CVT filter and then 2nd time only change..
So.. Is that OK I just buy the CVT fluid and change by myself without that CVT filter ?

Thank you very much.

Hey guys, coming back to this post. All along I have been servicing my Saga FLX 1.6 (bought in 2012) at Proton SC. Recently I've decided to start servicing outside at some workshop. Previously at Proton SC, they change my CVT fluid every 20K. Now here are the questions

1) Is it okay for me to change CVT fluid every 40k or 60k? (I usually clock 10k in 5 months)
2) Do we need to use computer to do some setting after change CVT fluid like mentioned in the post above and the blog below?
blog

Thanks!

I wonder which SC ask you change CVT oil every 20k ?

Normal = 60k change, heavy usage = 40k..an average 50k would be good...

No need for setting; after fill, start the engine, let it run for some time.. thereafter, drain the excess oil from the excess oil compartment under the CVT GB..
Then test drive, if all "gears" (R, N, D) are smooth, then is good to go.

hmm regarding the SC, think I dont want to mention names. Think it was my fault not really monitoring what is suppose and not suppose to change closely.

Great the post steps after changing CVT fluid sounds doable. Thanks for your input.

Looking forward to learn more new things in this forum!!

I encounter a Proton authorized SC/workshop in USJ area, stated in their own manual to change cvt oil every 20k, the malay girl staff told me her boss said so and need follow, I just say OK and walk out from the SC. shocking.gif

After that i straight go SS14 subang to service my car and verified as well with them. CVT oil to be replaced at 60k, unless severe driving then earlier.

After that all service for my gaga to be carried out at COSE only till my car warranty ended at mileage 60k+

My new Saga VVT pickup is lag like 1 second delay before moving from standstill. This is annoying, like have to press pedal hard everytime before the car jalan, not good for fuel usage. I know some other people using this engine also have same complaint.

My question is any solution ?

After change CVT of coz need remap using laptop, since gearbox sudah turun.

After changing CVT fluid, then not necessary need to plug in laptop. Just perform clutch adaptation will do.
http://service.punchpowertrain.com/wap_pro...l_en/id/33.html

It's a pain in the arse process, so normally if the CVT is behaving smoothly before and after the fluid change... then just jalan will do.

Sure wor?? But i wont take any chance of failure cvt warning light appears later. Better be safe than sorry. Use laptop more accurate and safer than manual "guessing" i think, well its up to the owner then.
