Hi guys, I'm owning Saga FLX 1.3 (A)
I want to ask about CVT fluid.. My car already 5 years old and clocked 18k km only.. After I search some other forum/blog for changing CVT fluid... the owner say go SC for change CVT fluid because need to use computer setting after change CVT fluid(for check the CVT fluid level has enough or not).. & I forgot which forum/blog got other people said 1st time no need change CVT filter and then 2nd time only change..
So.. Is that OK I just buy the CVT fluid and change by myself without that CVT filter ?

I wonder which SC ask you change CVT oil every 20k ?

Normal = 60k change, heavy usage = 40k..an average 50k would be good...

No need for setting; after fill, start the engine, let it run for some time.. thereafter, drain the excess oil from the excess oil compartment under the CVT GB..
Then test drive, if all "gears" (R, N, D) are smooth, then is good to go.

Wheel balancing not done properly.

Recently i notice my car is vibrating badly when i drive over 70km/h. Steering wheel vibrate, car keys that is at the ignition vibrate, dashboard have sound, car boot spring got sound. I'm pretty sure it is not due to the road condition because the highway condition KL - Melaka i've driven quite often. Usually when driving at 110km/h, i still feel the comfort driving it but now its causing much worries due to the vibration. Any idea what is going on or what needs to be checked? 2 weeks ago i've just done wheel balancing. I'm owning Saga FLX 1.6. Thanks in advance!

I wish I'd suggested that, I've had it happen to me in the past and it's a real bugger, not something you expect and of course whenever you stop and look about for the cause the tyre will naturally be resting upon the bulge.

i once ask my workshop foreman that he said no nid change cvt filter just 4 bottles of cvt fluid enough...

my mileage now is at 22xxxkm not yet done cvt fluid change since May 2014... hmmm...lol rarely drive..

i saw someone in fb share that he went back sc to do the cvt service ...and its cheaper?? i have no more warranty on my car so i am still in dilemma whether want to go back to do the services or not hmm..........

u did it in proton sc or outside workshop?

quite alot of ppl suggested me that only change cvt fluid is enough, and only need to change cvt filter when mileage reach 60k km...hmm

Problem rectified
Apparently flx cvt gear box wiring is shared with the 3rd brake light;
So fixed the brake light and settled for rm6.
Fog lamp bulb change; rm 25.

Saga BLM owner reporting in again after years! Been driving for 9 years now (and still counting), clocked in 160,000KM and still running strong with Michelin XM2. Just done major service replacing timing belt (2nd time), and minor services - coolant top-up & engine oil change. No major issue for the past 9 years ownership (touchwood).

Few questions:
1. Lately I heard loud "belt noise" from the front. Initially thought aircond fan or timing belt but none of those having issue. Workshop say it is the oil pump having issue and start aging already. Anyone has similar issue and what's the cost of replacing it? Googling online original part is about RM620.

2. Car started to shake. I changed my absorber at about 140,000KM and been running super stable and no shaking. Bumped into a hole lately and car start shaking when its idle, no issue when its running. Workshop say absorber still fine. What could be the root cause?

3. Planned to drive this Saga to Cameron Highlands soon, considering 9 years old & 1.3L auto. Anyone done that with the same Saga BLM? Is there anything that I should watch out?

4. Thinking to send car for full inspection. Any advise on good SC for this and cost of doing this?

5. Any recommended upgrade for headunit? I'm looking at this model SONY XAV-AX100 with Android Auto but not sure if it fits to Saga BLM. Please advise if there is any other model that support Android Auto and fit to Saga BLM.

Nway, my Saga FLX 1.6 SE is turning 6 years now.

FC is improving compared to previous years.

No heavy mods done. Just autofoam undercarriage + A pillars, changed to Michelin PS3 tyres & local sport rims due to original rims bengkok after near miss accident.

Had once asked the Proton SC to retune ECU & TCU after the car experiencing abnormal increased FC (after battery change due to old battery died out). FC improved much better than the original setting after that. 

Current FC (manual calculation):
City drive: 11~12 km/l
Highway drive: 15 km/l (roughly 110~120 km/h)

Mine was done FOC at that time as I was sending my car for routine service
