Hey guys. I read through some news from the taiwan forums. Just want to tell you that other than Australia and FAA, Note 7 is also banned in Taiwan flights. Please take note.

as the day goes by. more issues pop up on note 7..

okay no problem since starting, suddenly got problem  bangwall.gif

u better keep in storage until get new replacement..

This prove that no matter how many time you said touchwood, at the end, the phone will show up some problems eventually. No matter how many days, how many weeks, how many months it takes, it will come to you eventually. So I am sure even samsung recall programme is finish, we will probably still hear some explosion news from time to time because based on the human nature, I sincerely believe there's a bunch of people who won't replace their faulty Note 7.

The only way to differentiate... note 7 that's certified safe..... so, you cannot peel off the back sticker...
*
Oh this. Well, somehow I think this method is only useful do the buyers. For other people who don't use Note 7, they don't really care whether your phone got the sticker or not. What will they do is, "Nampak Note 7, I terus lari". I hope you know what I mean. tongue.gif

Also, in future, let say if I buy a new Note 7, I take it out and go to work with my colleagues. I take it out and yam cha with friends. They all will ask me to prove if my phone is the old unit kah? replacement unit kah? Or brand new unit kah? etc etc. I know this is just a small matter. But after spending 3K, I still need to bear with all those troubles. what a bummer.

I know in the future, Note 7 issues will be fixed and safe. No doubt about that. But in real life scenario, how many people around you will understand that? If they do follow the tech news, then it's fine. If they don't, you have to explain to them one by one and prove that your phone is safe.

I know later some people especially those Note 7 supporters will condemn my thoughts. Well, go ahead. I just give my opinions. I have nothing to shame about. whistling.gif

Nobody can condemn your thoughts because that's strictly your opinion. Hopefully people around you won't use Note 7 or else you have no more friends. Cheers!
*
Actually I do hope people around me will use Note 7 because despite all those issues, I am still interested and hope can touch and play the phone a bit. Afterall, it's not my phone and the responsibility is not on me ma. No harm right? rclxs0.gif

Oh I see. Yes. The sticker will be useful in this situation. I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip. thumbsup.gif

All I know is got another Samsung phone with super huge battery ... I might do some research on that ...
Then perhaps you can consider A9 Pro. So far, it has the largest battery capacity in Samsung phone line up, which is 5000mah and 6 inch screen. The only downsides with this phone is the average camera, no S Pen and it's quite heavy.

tried calling SME, apparently they say got S7 Edge as loan phone so need to go exchange Bomb7 for S7e first, then use, then take back Bomb7 give back S7e and go back original store for exchange blink.gif
*
If I can choose, I rather take a budget phone such as J5 or J7, as a loan phone. Giving my a S7edge may be good, but at the same time, I need to take care of it before I give it back to Samsung. Need to pray hard on this. if the S7 edge got any damage during the waiting period, mati lo. So I rather be patience and use a budget phone. It's not that I need to wait for a long time to get back Note 7 anyway... unsure.gif

Samsung is being sued, not because of Note7, but S7 edge.

I not yet decide to try get refund or replacement on 29/9 because if no alternative phone to buy
*
Job sheet details? Why the hell they need the Job Sheet details? You have to tell them what's your job before they agree to give you refund? hmm.gif

Some wind sound said maybe new replacement note 7 name will change? And maybe will throw in extra free gift? But dunno how reliable.. dunno still wan sell out my gold platinum unit or hold n see.. smile.gif
*
I think they definitely will change the name. Since they said they will put a "S" sticker on the box to prove that the new unit is safe, I think they will rename it as Galaxy Note 7s. "S" stand for Safe and Second. Simple and straight to the point.

I think the phone explosion cases always been happened around the world. Usually those cases would be in very small amount. So they are covered up or being settle behind the scene, fast & secretly. But now thanks to the Note 7 fiasco which is getting wide open now around the world, more cases could not hide anymore. People learned from this and they are now more dare to expose it via medias. They don't care about it anymore. Just give them viral first and pursue compensation later.

I won't be surprised to see if some more explosion cases from different brand being exposed in the next couple of weeks.

All will focus on this issue over the next few weeks or months. How would xiaomi handle this i am curious.
*
Well, IMO, since Xiaomi is China company, plus that case was happened inside China, I think it will be settled easily. And after few weeks later, everyone will forget and continue to use their products. That's how it works in China, and it usually works effectively, if you know what I mean.

Sadly to say, the same thing won't happen to Samsung. Afterall, Samsung products are everywhere around the world. In term of world stage, Samsung Note 7 is far more well known compared to Xiaomi Mi Max or Mi4c. So yeah. if anything bad happened, it would hit Samsung very bad compared to Xiaomi.

If this is true, I think the extra gift will be given to the new buyers instead of the existing users.

Too many freebies for existing buyers you think?
*
I think the exisiting buyers would care about the safety first rather than request for more freebies. From business perspective, what Samsung needs to do now is to guarantee the replacement unit is definitely safe and sound, then the exisitng users will be happy and rejoice, and able to sleep comfortably at night. Meanwhile, in order to regain the trust & confidence from the potential customers, only guarantee of safety will not be enough. Samsung can throw in some more freebies in order to attract their attention. That would be more practical. New customers sure will buy it if the freebies are attractive. thumbsup.gif

Reduce price is best
*
It's possible. But most likely not at the early stage. If they launch it with lower price, the buyers who pre-order the phone in August will bising.

The price of the "new" Note 7 will definitely drop after few months later. Or may be it willl drop much faster than our expectation. Afterall, Note 7 value is affected by the battery gate. Its value won't be strong compared to the past generations. No doubt about that.

If Samsung decide to reduce the price when Note 7 comes back to Malaysia, then happy lo. We still can hope right? rclxms.gif

if you judge any other phones that launch recently last year, they depreciate quite fast, look at s7 edge, less than a year, 400 gone. a problem free phone. i lost up to 60% depreciation from zenfone 2 top of the line phone within 10 months.
*
Ya, indeed. But for Note 7, I think it will depreciate even faster. No need to ask. We all know that Note 7 market is sabotaged now. They won't hold on to their normal price for very long.

my take is, yes it will depreciate faster than rrp, but eventually will get stagnant, you don't come and tell a note 7 worth rm500 after a year, lol.

Ya. I expect it will be dropped till somewhere around the range of RM 2500-RM3000, before it's completely replaced by Note 8. biggrin.gif

but still, does it really matter when you're using the phone full fledged for the next 2-3 years or so?
Of course it doesn't matter. But you know I know la. People in lowyat forum are very rich one. They change their phones like changing clothes. Haha..

But seriously, I think most of Note 7 users will jump straight to the Note 8 once it comes out. Eventhough most people said they are totally comfortable with Note 7 as long as it's safe, deep down in their heart, they will still feel uneasy with it, more or less. It's psychological issue. No one will be 100% relax and satisfied after going through all those troubles.
